Millrose 2 Mile Entries- Every American Distance Fan's Dream Race

Remember all the bashing last year on the move of the Millrose games.

What a travesty it was going to be , USATF putting on last minute meet etc etc.

Guess what its back better than ever , world class fields on fast track , people are excited about it once again.

Im looking at this years schedule , next to the the NB grand prix in Boston it looks like its right back on track to remain of the the premier indoor meets in the US and world.

Classic Letsrun poster- Of all the possible reasons there could be for Rupp to not be in this 2-mile - other scheduled races, workouts, training cycle, training priorities, etc. (plus, his having won a SILVER MEDAL in the 5000 meters at the OLYMPIC GAMES against THE BEKELE BROTHERS) the one you think is actually true is that he's afraid of Bernard Lagat? Do you get to the end of CSI and wonder "Gee, who do you think did it?"

rupp is the record holder. by being in the race and running fast, he could potentially help someone (lagat, classic sit and kick runner)take down HIS record.if rupp were to race, it would be to try to slow lagat down so he can preserve his record. i don't understand why you think he's afraid of bernie at this point. but then again, the name you post under is Needing advice

I think what's interesting is Lagat setting up an AR attempt and then helplessly watching Jager take it from him.

And by interesting I mean awesome.

This race is too short for Rupp but perfect for Lagat. Rupp got smashed in the OG 5k final and this is a mile shorter.

Just Rupp and Lomong missing among the US 2 milers. If they get in on it, that would be the race of a century for US distance runners.

Hey "Needing Advice", note that Rupp is going to race Gebremeskel (12:47) over 3000 in Boston.

Cam Levins will outright win this race, overrated is hilarious he will be creaming the likes of bumbalough, ritzenhein, lalang and Lagat soon enough. We will see overrated in the very near future.

They need to add the fastest American ever to run 2 miles, as well.

While I'm excited to see the stellar field, I hope it works out and is not overcrowded on the tight indoor track.

If only we could get Chris Derrick and Hassan Mead (ala 2009)

Could be a good race. If Fernandez is healthy I could see him metronoming this one perfectly for Lagat to take the AR.

Would be much more interesting with Rupp and Centro. Well, maybe not. With Centro in the race all the suspense is taken out of wondering who will win.
