He does not have a sponsor because he is not willing to relocate. I am 100% positive that several training groups would be happy to have Bobby be a part of their team.

Relocate where? Who else has guys running sub 28 minutes for Bobby to train with? Should he move just to have a sponsor?
Fernandez, Derrick, Ritzenhein, Gouchers's, Vaughn's part of the business.
He benefits from college environment as well as Ryan Hill. It is also impossible to not get sucked into college calendar as opposed to ready for June.
If Rollie is treating him like pro trying to make World team than great. If Ryan's training rabbit, then bad.
A sponsorship and support would make his life easier to not have to "work".
"We try to promote things ahead of time as the best part about running is predicing[sic] it before hand and then talking about it afterhand."
The best part? Wow.
I think if he just prepared a running bio , got the name of the head promo guys sent it off he could drum up something. He may have an agent asking for crazy money is my guess.
Equipment , travel stipend , bonus at a minimum. He is worth a salaried stipend small as it may be.
I think a lot of reasons why he hasn't showed interest in being sponsored or joining an elite training group is because he hasn't had a traditional path to being a 27:50 guy.
He was an all-american in cross as a freshmen, then basically fell off the map for 4-5 years because of injuries. In the last 4 years he has been incredibly consistent. Lowering his PRs, winning bigger and bigger races, etc. In the last year he has won USA cross, run 27:50 - I'm sure he is content to do what he's been doing.
Brojos blackballed him for not wanting to run in a crappy letsrun.com singlet.

BUMP... any reply to this?
Hahahahaha this thread has been HEAVILY moderated. It was like 4 pages long this morning.
He beat some good runners in that race, did most of the work to catch the leader and seemed like a really nice guy when they interviewed him
Weirdly enough, shoe companies do not bring in a lot of press for their sponsored runners. Especially the lower level ones. They sit back and wait for runners to make a name for themselves, makes no sense. Truth is they are to busy or do not care enough to put out press on most races. The only press for this race would come from USATF or the race organizer. Bobby Mack is a good runner, but as mentioned earlier people want a story.
That race was unbelievably inspiring. Phenomenal throw down in the last 300.
I love "real" muddy, undulating, rhythm-breaking XC courses and my new hero is Bobby Mack.
I despise hard-packed golf course XC and this really reminded me of that.
How much are the brojos giving him?
If you don't think Mack has a story or is generic you need to read this interview!

Also the dudes wife walked down the aisle at their wedding to 2 family members playing a Grateful Dead tune. Mack is an interesting guy If you're lucky enough to know him outside of running.

That's cool. Which tune? Sugar Magnolia?
