I am a parent and I have a child who is starting to be actively recruited by colleges for Xc and track.
Some colleges use social media very well to aid them in recruiting, and some shoot themsleves in the foot constantly.
There is one head coach of a major university who has a twitter count (in which he advertises his position at the university) and then proceeds to do nothing make snarky, elitist and rude remarks about other coaches, casual runners, other schools, and almost never says anything useful or positive, even about his own program.
What makes this so silly is that he is the one who followed me and I just followed him back. After two weeks I unfollowed him and my child agreed that his school is crossed off the list, we just couldn;t take his poor attitude towards others.
Why is a coach at a major university so poor at using social media. I mean this guy and his school would be much better of if he did not have an account at all, rather than use it the way he does.
