Maybe try to quantify "most selective small colleges" and "results of Rhodes Scholarships."
Funny how whenever the subject of East Coast athletic mediocrity comes up, the default answer is "But...but we have better academics!" Ya'll some jokers.[/quote]
number 1. simply not true.
2. Isn't that part of the fun? trash talking other teams and being interested in discussions about the sport?
3. Extremely exaggerated, but see point 2. Also hilarious, because all midwest guys seem to do on letsrun is get pissy at new england.
4.funny when the east coast lays down fast times, the midwest answer was "but...but their tracks are too fast and unfair! There is no way the midwest might not actually run all the fast times!" and then promptly changed the rules.
5. If I seem to recall correctly, the east coast had some fine performances at nationals. this is also a stupid argument because of the luck involved. I am sure you could make a convincing argument over the years for the midwest, but if scheetz doesn't get injured, then last year might look very different. East coast had some good performances, midwest was just a bit better last year. No need to be a douche canoe about it.
in conclusion:
9/10
Extremely good trolling, and sure to get responses, but no real solid arguments presented. Might I suggest you start your own thread for this discussion? This one is about new england track and field. There is already a thread for arguing over track conversions and which region is better.
