These college "coaches" that are nothing more than glorified van drivers are the wost form of life. Even if the scholarships are not state funded, the coaches salary sure is, as is the money used to pay the teams travel expenses, shoes, unis etc..

American universities have always been bastions of excellence. There is absolutely nothing wrong with American universities giving scholarships to foreigners who can raise the level of excellence, regardless of the field of endeavor. Hopefully, they stay here, have families here and help raise the bar permanently. Your ideas stink of protectionism and racism.

Shut and train harder is not just as stupid. If the Americans had trained better, then they would have been faster.
Brilliant. Tell me, just which American teams/individualsare slacking off and have lots of room for improvement? Let me guess your thoughtful answer in advance: "All of them!!!"

Foreigners are human beings just like Americans are. Citizenship has nothing to do with physiology.
Both of these are true statements. Both are also entirely irrelevant.

How many American kids are doing 100mpw throughout highschool? Close to none, so yes they are all slacking off and have some sort of unspoken code of conduct.
I see. So when you were doing those 100-mile weeks in your mid- to late-teens, did you have any luck convincing anyone else to join you?

Not enough probably. And that is probably what is wrong. Levins decided to out train the Kenyans and thus he is the defending 5000/10000 NCAA champ.
levins must be on PED's, no way a 'real" Canadian can run that fast - is he related to Ben Johnson?
My question is why American runners did so badly when our performances at the hs level have never been better than over the past five or six years.
It sounds like you're whining, Denny. Feel better now?
