First off, I am an Oregon fan. Make no bones about it.
When it comes to Oregon/Bama (my pick for the title game) I am completely unsure of the outcome. I could see either team winning, and there is a legitimate argument for either team winning.
Clearly Bama has the harder schedule and better O/D Lines and a very stingy defense. However UO has an offense like I have never seen. They can seemingly score at anytime in any way. Lets not forget that the Ducks have perhaps the best return man for punts (De'Anthony Thomas) who never even got a real chance against USC.
I happen to believe that these teams are more evenly matched then people give them credit for. The Ducks defense (while looking terrible against USC) is not an overall terrible squad. In game injuries really effected the amount of pressure they could put on Barkley. That combined with the offensive weapons that USC has made for a very high scoring game.
Oregon's biggest problem going into the BCS title game is the amount of time between the season end and the start. It gives any team they face a lot of film watching time. A lot of people are using the Auburn/Oregon title game as an example of what will happen this year. I happen to believe that is a poor example because Kelly completely changed his play calling for that game, they were not the high tempo offense that we are used to.
It is hard for me to admit, but I see Bama getting the better of my Ducks more often then not. However, that is why they play the game.
