Sometimes when you get to the heights of education you realize that a simple, relaxing, well defined manual labor job is all you want, and that it is
sometimes a better environment for thinking and formulating.

take 2/3 of your military budget and invest it in research, health and education and you wont have enough phd's around to fill all the positions that would make you a true power. on the other hand, the corporate powers that truly run your country dont want you educated, they control you.

As are the majority of college professors and most of us with graduate degrees, assuming that the term "liberal" here means anyone who doesn't buy Carl Rove and Koch Brothers programming. You know, people who actually know something??
Yes, they know how to make coffee at Starbucks, drive buses, and apparently how to mop floors and clean sh!tters.
Liberals are a plethora of knowledge.
Conservatives they just know how to make lots of money doing things that actually produce real wealth.
Ha haha you are a dishwashing liberal with a phd in Art arent you! Fvckn dumb-dumb.

Does that make them happy? The reason I ask is that you, who I am assuming is a Republican of the Tea Party persuasion, seem very unhappy and in desperate need of external affirmation of your self-worth, which takes the form of asserting your group's superiority while making fun of others.
I'd rather be a happy dishwashing liberal with a PhD in Art than an insecure conservative whose self worth is derived from the false money=happiness equivalency.

Thank you. It is quite rare to get such immediate confirmation of one's point.

They just don't make trolls the way they used to.
I would like to know how many of these janitors are actually foreigners/immigrants that are in transition of getting re-qualified. I wouldn't be surprised if these janitors were just immigrants with degrees that do not transfer (the institution they received from which they received their PhD is not recognized by the US) or don't speak English so their only option is to make a living in a low skill job. I know one of my friend's mom had to work as a housekeeper when they first came from Latin America, even though she was a doctor there. I HIGHLY doubt that most of the people are actually US PhDs.

Man, I can appreciate a good troll, but you suck. You're trying too hard, your posts aren't funny, and you're posting too often. Take some time off and read the collected works of The 430 Miler, bub.

Testing is okay, but it is so restricted as to make it difficult. You have to show the test is applicable to the job while at the same time does not discriminate.
Good interviewing is critical, but so is checking up on what people claim. Something like 75% of resumes have serious misrepresentations, if not lies, in them. (I think it was Monster.com that came up with that figure).
Education has nothing to do with being able to creating or doing something of value that other people will benefit from.
good point here. that graph shows just over 100,000 janitors; so the cited state would = 5% of janitors have a ph.d. seems unlikely
PHD's used to drive taxi's but I guess the janitor stuff pays more, better benefits, you don't have to worry about getting robbed...You can always tell the girls you work on Wall Street, you wouldn't be lying.

There are definitely more than 100,000 janitors in this country. I don't trust any of the stats in this thread, starting with the titlee.
