A few thoughts.
Realistically I think Jeter will surpass Hank Aaron and retire #3 on the All time hits list.
But for all of Jeter's hits perhaps the the biggest reason he should be in the HOF is playing SS and being the undeniable team leader for years on a Yankee team winning multiple championships. So yes, I don't see any reason he shouldn't be first ballot HOF.
I am slightly worried that Jeter is taking some illegal substances. He may not be. Its very common and legitimate for older players to have a comeback season or two before they become washed up for real. But the more I followed Jeter this season it almost seemed a little too good to be true. He's hitting the ball like he is 28.
