Double Gold
He should be racing High School kids, he still beat the king of the 10k and his brother and even slapped down his own training partner.
Then turned around and threw down a weak but effective 5k
It's absolutely clear he would get destroyed by Gebremesekl in a real non-tactical race; but such a race is not gonna happen, unfortunately.

First, I want to be clear that it's not entirely mo's fault that the field sucks. Meet organizers are to blame for that.
Second, he doesn't deserve sympathy because his wife just have birth. He would only if it were an actual race. Since this race was set up to let him win I'm sure they'll play up a British record attempt then pay the rabbit to screw with the pacing so it ends up a slow race. All to better suit Mo Farah. 9:13 is more likely than 8:13 with the way he runs.
I'm sick of these setup races. It's exactly what makes track and field a once every four years sport. If Birmingham wants to throw a parade for mo that's great but they shouldn't do it around the track.
I'm sorry but the way he runs? The way runs is the best in the entire world. He's run fast before and run tactical races before. He can win any god damn race he enters. Don't act like he's ever running slowly
Mo does not make the start list for these races. If a field is weak it is either the meet directors fault or the athletes who did not show up. Mo does not decide who to race.
Oregon has signed MO MF Farah? Great, just effing great.
Looking at the fields as a whole, Birmingham doesn't deserve DL status. It's all the more glaring coming as the meeting does after a stacked Lausanne meeting and before Zurich, the preeminent one-day meeting in the world.
God forbid a guy should run a race in his home country, the country he honored with two Olympic golds on home turf.
What important distance race has Mo missed so far? Did Lausanne have any? no.
I'm sure he'll race in Zurich, Berlin or Brussels and possibly two of those three.
I'd like to see Centro run a two mile right about now.
Just sayin' ....

What makes you think Mo Farah isn't a drug cheat?
Mo is a star over there. I'm sure he'll have a lot of fun going and getting a work out in with America's B guys. Then being adored by fans and paparazzi all day afterwards. I'd say soak it up while you can.
Furthermore, I'm sure there are a lot of brits that would really like to see him race, but couldn't afford to see him in the olympics, and now they'll have a chance to. I think it's mostly an honor thing, for himself and his home country.
ovett still holds the outdoor record

Yes, but you are worse than Hitler.
I'm not sure what his appearance fee is for this meet, but it's very likely he is just going wherever gives him the most money, which a british meet like that is likely to do. Maybe there isn't a huge field in the 2 mile because they broke the bank on Mo :p
Lets see, the biggest race of the year left for England, and his wife just gave birth to twins, so running in England and having a chance to see family is really just secondary to ducking the competition that he knows will defeat him.... Yea, that is the most logical conclusion.
Mo Farah showed up for the finals of the 10,000 and 5,000 meters at the 2012 Olympic Games and heard his national anthem played twice. I also recall he showed up for the World Championships last year. It's an insult to accuse him of ducking competition. Also, I am sorry to be pedantic, but literally speaking, our sport does not have balls to be stripped off. Thank you.
I guess the appearance fee was pretty substantial. Johann Blake turned down $40,000 as "insulting".
"Yohan Blake, the Jamaican sprinter who won three medals at the London 2012 Olympic Games, will not compete at athletics’ Aviva Grand Prix meeting in Birmingham, England on Sunday, after an “insulting” offer of £25,000 ($39,725) in appearance money.
Blake’s manager Cubie Seegobin said the offer from UK Athletics promoter Ian Stewart “didn’t come close” to his value, and added that Blake was being treated as little more than a support act for the meeting’s main attraction, the UK’s double gold medalist Mo Farah.
Seegobin said: “There’s an arrogance about these meets in England. There’s something wrong. The attitude seems to be, ‘We’ve got Mo Farah so we don’t need anyone else’.
“Birmingham has a big West Indian community and you would have thought they would want to see Yohan Blake or Warren Weir or some of the other Jamaicans.”
Seegobin claimed invitations to British meetings were largely dependent on whether the agent was on “friendly terms” with Stewart.
Bolt, who won silver medals in the 100 meters and 200 meters and gold in the 4×100 meters relay at the Olympics, will instead compete in Thursday’s Samsung Diamond League meeting in Lausanne."

Too bad they didn't have anyone to compete against.
Birmingham was a waste of everyone's time. It should be kicked out of the league.
