I love them, but hate that they don't last long. I get about 300 miles out of a pair.
I'm hoping that they bring back the flexibility in the new version. Found that I like the glide 4 better. Same number of miles, more flexible, very cushioned and I get them for $52 from RW when they go on sale.
Could you tell me which Nike Vomero you had trouble with collecting sweat, or is it a problem with all the recent models +7, +8.
I have an old pair of Nike vomero which I've probably had 2k miles out of, including a number of full and half marathons and can't fault them. Recently the heel split so went for a pair of Brooks adrenaline GTS12 but having problems/pains as I'm a neutral pronate runner and these have too much support and are the wrong buy (doh).
Thanks for any advice on the new Vomero models as I don't like the sound of running on sponges...
All Nikes are trash
Ian edwards gets like 2000miles on his vomeros.
I have only trained in Nike Vomeros since the first version came out. However, I tried wearing vomero 8 and my feet start throbbing within a mile of running and I have stop and limp home. I am stuck wearing my old vomero 7s and they have over 500 miles on them. I am so annoyed by this, why does Nike have to change designs like this! Might be switching to my kinvaras full time, even though I use them only for tempo workouts.
Vomero awesomeness scale (I still remember the first version back in 2006):
1>4>3>2>5>6
I have not tried the 7 or 8. The 6th version had way too much cushion for a light runner so I had to switch to the pegasus.
YES
Last winter I got them thinking they were extremely cushioned but I was so wrong. They gave my knees troubles probably cuz I was used to the comfy pegasus. So I wore my 500 miled pegasus and it felt twice as good compared to the new vomero
Knee pain= adios
Nike rep talked about how they've received a lot of negative comment about the Vomero recently. In 2015 the vomero will be changed completely!

I would disagree with you until now. The pegasus used to be the only quality shoe for 30 models. But number 31 is DEATH. I'm going to have to find a new training shoe.

I like the Vomero, to me, much like the Pegasus, which I've run in for most of the last 30 years. Vomero just has more forefoot cushion from the Zoom Air. The 8's are an ounce lighter than the 7's and more forefoot flexion, plus no stitch uppers. If you are a neutral runner and don't like them, there are plenty of alternatives, like the Glyercin, Nimbus, Energy Boost, maybe even the HOKA's for heavier guys. Support your local running specialty store and you can check them out, buying online and you won't know what you get.

Have you tried samples of the Pegasus 31, or are you just going by the photos in the catalog? It looks interesting, but nothing out of the ordinary. I look forward to buying them in 2015 after all of the cheap Pegasus 30s are sold out.

I am biased because whenever nike completely changes a shoe (I.e vomero) the result is not well. It appears to be unsupportive

Totally agree, I developed serious injuries in both lower legs, 3 weeks after I started to use them. Fancy but BAD, no support whatsoever.
Hello, I also got serious injuries after a month of running on the Nike Vomero 11's. I was diagnosed with medial tibial stress fractures. I was wondering if anyone else had the same injury or could recommend a better pair of cushioned shoes.
Nike shoes are known for being really good or really bad. Some of their trainers are in the latter category.
