Correct
Racewaliking is not a top tier event, so by definition, there cannot be any top tier athletes in that event.

Yet another data point that 5 and 10km runners dope (and that it works) - despite what some believe.

He was a 13-2X runner before his breakthrough run in Paris this year so he was not that far off from the making it to the Olympics. Of course, he could have been doping before then.
There does not seem to be any sort of general performance profile when it comes to dopers. Athletes such as Lombard had sudden breakthroughs whereas athletes such as Jones, Fagan, or Hellybuck had many years of performances at a high level before it was revealed that they were doping.
Hirt had a breakthrough year last year running 13 28 at World Military games (had PBd in heats too i think) - had a previous PB of like 13 42 - performances in X-coutry reflected that sort of level too.
Basicly follows the trend of 30 secs gain over 5k.
Makes me think of a guy that went from 13 20 to 12 50 shape after a 'change of coach' (as crap excuse of added plyometrics) & moving countries...but not a chance he will get busted.
Grenada is not a top tier Olympic country by definition, there cannot be any top tier athletes in that country.
Kirani James is top tier. Whaaattt???????

I hear you
Wow Rupp and Farrah are beating all those doped runners and making it look easy!
It's amazing what good training and genetics will do!

I can hear the sarcasm in this lol. If it comes out that Rupp dopes I am switching to Water Polo
I just hope they bust that Algerian so we can have Gold and Bronze in the 1500m. Give it a month, he'll go down
Since I know the guy and some of my friend raced against him back in the younger categories, when I saw the race the other day, i was watching with one of my old friend and he told me with a lap to go: "oh my god he improved a lot since our old days, even if he will not make the final, what a race!" then he add "who is this gabius guy ?!"
even if the PED's they are taking are untraceable now, they won't be that way forever
all tested athletes will have their urine sample stored as to test them when it becomes possible to trace it.

Yes, Arne Gabius has improved a lot this year. However, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, for several reasons:
•He only became a full-time athlete last year, after finishing medical school.
•He has not yet reached a level where he could make a living as a runner, and as a future doctor, he would have much more to lose if he tests positive, and loses his right to practice.
•He has changed coaches, but has not joined any infamous training group, he's now mostly self-coached.
If he breaks 13:00 next year, decides to move to Kenya or Oregon full time, or goes through a physical transformation a la Chris Froome, I may change my mind. Until then, I believe he is clean.

Before I used to be like you but now I can not believe in that, he remember me a lot of Vroemen. Almost all athletes have much more to loose when caught doping. Regarding the french he only have that...
Also the problem is not only that stuff are untraceable because only dumb athletes or not well advised go dopped at a championship. And the problem is all here as well as protected athlete (ask M. Lewis). People dope mostly out of competition so you can retest whatever you want but... and blood test are very few...

You would be surprised to see the list of new design drugs that are currently on the market and yet... untraceable... but if you want to believe that does stuff does not exist no problem. I just wanted to give you my opinion and some inside knowledge.
There is a difference between untraceable and undetectable. Just ask all those guys and gals that got busted via Biological Passport last month. Just because we can't test for a drug doesn't mean we can't figure out that they are taking SOMETHING.

Sorry english is not my first language. both exist but i meant more undetectable. Don't need to ask "ALL" (only 9!!) i know what it is but ALL is not much as they are only representative of a very few % of those that are on something. And most fish are very well advised... And I never said that we can't figure out that they are taking something. I just have to watch them and have some inside view from actual runners since i just ran for fun now but still have many friends on the stage.
USA hasn't won a Olympic 5000mtres Gold medal since 1964.
Therefore USA 2nd tier.
Zut alors! Please direct your browser to letssurrender.com and tell it to them there.
That is awesome. This guy will break 2 in the marathon for sure.

Oh god, this is hilarious. I found an interview with him right after he qualified and he's asked how he made such a big improvement. His answer? Weight vests. I'm not kidding.
