I'm more interested in what state/city/country is the least religious in general ,because I would love to live there. Religion is the biggest scam in the history of the World and it's baffling how still so many people give a shit about old beliefs that mean nothing.
Stop being weak minded, and be cool to people. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. You do those things, and the World would be an amazing place ... without the "scriptures" from a couple thousand years ago still brainwashing young minds all around the world.
Based on a Gallup poll last year these are the five least religious states:
Alaska: 28 percent
Massachusetts: 28 percent
Maine: 25 percent
Vermont: 23 percent are very religious
New Hampshire: 23 percent
Wiki says Georgia has the fewest churches per capita. Maybe a large number of people go to mega churches in Georgia?

1. California
2. New York
3. New Jersey
4. Massachusetts
5. Oregon
6. Nevada
7. Vermont
8. Illinois
9. Wisconsin
10. Florida
Hmmm, all those voted Obama in '08. Coincidence?
How are we measuring how Christian a state is? By the number of people who self-identify as Christians? By the number of people whose actual actions reflect the Christian values laid out in the Bible? The answer is probably very different using these two definitions.

No coincidence at all, actually. Conservatives always make the mistake of throwing their religious morals into every decision they make, not accounting for the fact that not everyone in the United States shares their beliefs.
Liberals, on the other hand, generally make decisions the believe to be best for the entire COUNTRY. Now, that doesn't mean for a moment that liberals make the "best" decisions, but at least they try to be inclusive. Conservatives simply want to damn anyone who isn't of "the one true faith." It's very discriminating.
What if your cool is offensive to my cool?
Let's do it by number of miracles!

Given the well-known (though not particularly large) inverse correlation between intelligence and religious belief--no, not particularly surprising. My impression is that ON AVERAGE the more highly-educated people were more likely to vote for BHO than McCain--and we know that there's a strong correlation between highest level of schooling and intelligence.
What *does* surprise me is the notion that California is the least-Christian state. I should have thought that there were a lot of Catholics there--or maybe only legal residents were surveyed???
Note that NY and NJ (presumably) are on that list as non-Christian states, but certainly not *nonreligious* states. There are millions of Jews and a surprising number of Muslims in those two. And both states have a high number of immigrants, who tend to be religious (hence my surprise about CA, which I thought had *tons* of immigrants).

1/10 Nice try, troll.
The more educated tend to be more religious.

Oh, AND... no soft miracles like "hardening pharoah's heart" and stuff. Come on: pharaoh could have gotten mad on his own, and then people CLAIMED it was a miracle after the fact. I'm talking about manna, frogs, stuff like that.

Thanks for the link. I'm good with this conclusion from the survey:
“But if it’s saying the Bible is the literal word of God and saying that only one religion is the true religion, then [the more educated people] are less religious,” he continued.

I'm not defending liberals, but be careful when you make references to contradiction. Conservatives piss and moan about "big government" getting its fingers into too many pies, but the right-wingers seem to have no problem with trying to legislate morality. "You can't marry that person...You can't be in control of your own body...You're an enemy of the State if you don't believe in God (heck, maybe even if you're not a Christian!)"
If pursuit of that kind of control doesn't constitute too much government, then there is no such thing.
And mental disorders? You're going to tell me that whackos like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann Colter and Bill O'Reilly are stable? Good one! (And again, I'm not defending extremists on the other side such as Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann...)
How did this thread (& nation) turn into a the view that conservatives are all Christian & liberals are all athiests. This is not true! Obama has said numerous times that he is a Christian.

Liberals will never get the Christian vote that they need to win if they claim to be an athiest party. Obama needs all the votes he can get this November.
The your cool isn't cool enough and you just need to chill more.

Are you for real?? The liberals laugh and mock people of faith all the time. The liberal media always takes the atheist side in their slanted reporting.Re: Obama? ARe you speaking of the Obama who said the muslim call to prayer is the "most beautiful sound he's heard"?Or the Obama that mocks the bible while ALWAYS calling the koran "holy"?Or the Obama that has attacked the biblical principles he claims to believe?Yeah, real Christian that Obama is.
