Why did someone write that Phelps runs 80-90 miles/week, and has a marathon PR of 2:28? Was that supposed to be funny? What's the point of writing that?

I just watched an interview with Phelps and he said one of his goals after his retirement from competitive swimming is to beat Lance's time in the Ironman. Michael stated that he regularly incorporates runnin in his training and typically puts in 80-90 mile weeks. He has run several marathons with a PR of 2:28.

Your times are BS. Maybe you should use an actual track. I seriously doubt your fastest milers were in the 4:30s. Also your youTube videos are ghey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwXjP2sM3jU. This coming from another Patriot League swimmer.
"My college swim team (Bucknell) used to run the mile in pre-season too, and the times were about the same. Most of our men's swim team was in the 4:30 range."
Replying to this fool.
Its crazy, even without training a 4:40 mile wasn't that big of a deal for half of the kids in highschool coming out for the team, to thing someone with elite levels of fitness like Phelps, where literally no one can match him in his given sport and that fact that the sport he competes in most people use as a training for running itself and you think he can't clock a sub 5.....
Are the majority of you girls and struggled to dip below 5 for the mile?
Not sub-6, unless he can prove it. He's big and not trained for running. I doubt he has gone longer than a mile in training - saves it all for the pool.
phelps and rupp are SOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Blue Collar
A better question is Phelps vs Rupp in a Olympic distance Triathlon. Who would win? Phelps can swim, Rupp can run, neither bike that I know of. I think that would be a interesting race.

I forgot my guess. I would say just under 6 min. but barely under 6.

Rupp, the winner is always the runner
Neither are trained to swim a distance like the Olympic Tri calls for.
