Not over jet lag, he goes with the leaders and blows up a bit - 8:21. Not as bad as Ritz's 5000 in London in which there was talk of an American record, however. These threads come up all the time and 98 percent of the time are crazy talk.
The Americans racing Europe have been kinda sucking...my guess is he doesnt pr...
He's gonna go out way to fast and blow up and run 8:25 range. He's never been in a real steeple and this one will be going out around 60.
Not yet! 8:11 or 8:12 unless he goes too deep trying and blows up in which case he is over 8:20.

Ok, here is an official new letsrun.com rule.
1) Americans can't complain about freaking jet lag anymore. Please stop.

I sort of have this fear.
My biggest fear is he's not used to going out too hard and that he indeed might go out too hard or that he'll have no one to run with.
But what I always say about the steeple is in fact, guys aren't really running that fast. I think it's an event where going out too hard doesn't hurt you too bad as you aren't running that fast.
I mean 7:55 pace is 13:11 5k pace.
Yes I know there are barriers and what not but it's not that actually fast of a pace. It's a pace that he can run almost twice as far as at that pace if it was flat.
But it's not flat. And jetlag is a real thing.
Yes, he will run faster than Licoln's AR, but it will never be ratified. In his post-race drug test, he will test positive for performance enhancing drugs, whereas investigators will also find President Obama’s Kenyan birth certificate and the body of former Teamsters Union president Jimmy Hoffa.
You thought the Aurora, CO shootings on the 43rd anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing, was freakish? This day ain't over, it is gonna get all kinds of weird, culminating with a double lap dance for you, performed by Joan Rivers and Nancy Pelosi.
What I really like is that steeple is the last event of the meet. It seems like they've made it the marquee event of the night. That's exciting for the steeplechase as an event. It's the most exciting event at a high school invitational, so why not push it more in the press?
I'd hope he's been in Europe long enough now to be well rested. But you have to wonder what are the reasons Americans have run so poorly in Europe so far. Is it merely jet lag or did they all have to peak/taper for nationals and so are now trying to build back up and sharpen and aren't fresh for these races. Makes you wonder about having nationals so close to the Olympics.

Also, not real sure that Jager could keep up most of the way during a 26:22 10000.
Jager will run 8:06.39 today
The Kenyans have to be feeling a good vibe right now after Kiprop running that amazing 1500. This should be an amazing steeple.
Time for a rality check how hard it is to set AR's

Please, Rojo. It's better to remain quiet and be thought a fool....
