It will be a great team race for sure it could come down to who has a good/bad day. Its too bad Malone cant run regionals.

Dear Malone Runner,
Please stop posting results within the team. The time trial was not a full 10 miles. It "acted" like a 10 miler because of a hill that was repeated run. This is what was posted some some of the teams public running logs.
Track doesn't always relate to XC.
The only guys who know of the 3200 meter time trial are the guys within the program or people who have running2win accounts.
They all have cut mileage to get a good time trial in this week. They have also been doing 200's-800's since early July. This is all coming from some of their running logs.

how do you know all this information on malone then? i think ur just splatting a lot of BS
First, I'll say that me previous post was written very poorly. Sorry for the grammar and terrible sentence structure.
Second, like many others in the state of Ohio, I have a running2win account. Like most, it's very public for everyone to see. With that said, I can say that there were guys on the team that made the Top 10 mileage list. When I clicked on it, I saw who exactly was the poster. It doesn't take much digging to see what training they do and how long they've been doing it.
Third, it's a reoccurring topic of discussion about "Time Trials" on their logs dating all the way back from the 2nd week of July.
What I was saying before is, stop posting results within the team. It's clear that this thread is hijacked by current and former malone runners. I don't know what they did last year for a 10 mile time trial. I don't care, but it seems like every year since they won their first National Title someone from malone has gotten on here and promoted themselves to be better than what they are at.
Grand Valley might have lose some guys, we won't know what they look like till the first meet.

You can look at them here. Pretty attractive if you ask me.
can malone run in regional or nationals for D2?
No this is their last year of the probationary period or whatever it is called. They will be officially DII in Track
Just watched seven Malone guys go sub 9:20 on our track in a 2 mile time trial.. haha GVSU doesn't have it easy this year. Off the top of my head. 9 flat, 9:02, 9:03, 9:07, 9:10, 9:17, 9:18.. I think they had four more under 9:30.
This was off a slow 4:40 first mile....
If true, they won't last till conference.
Ashland just did an easy run at 4:58 pace today. They should be pretty tough come conference.
Ferris did a long run of 14 miles at 5:10 pace. Looks like they're going to kill everyone.
14 miles at 5:10 pace is a little crazy don't you think. Even for the GV. Maybe the 5:10 was a go mile.
i'm calling BS on this. Malone is good, but not great
I heard GV had 15 guys run sub 13.00 for 100 meters. They are in beast mode.
was not impressed at all with the northwood guys. There was chatter on here about them contending for the gliac title. I doubt they will even be top 5 come conference.
Good opener for Malone, defeating three division I schools on a hot and humid Thursday afternoon.

I hope that wasn't there top guys or they are in trouble!
Why do you say that? It's a season opener and the course is not flat as a pancake. Mix in 90+ and humid and those are solid times to start. Tiffin opens up this weekend at the Calvin Invitational. Where does everyone else open up their seasons at?
I say that because a team average of 20:57 is equal to about 26:30 for 8k which is not very good regardless of heat and being the first meet of the year. It might be solid, but it is no where near winning the GLIAC like many have been claiming.
That's why the following weekend at Navy last year they averaged 25:24 when they averaged 20:59 at Akron.... and course conditions were way worse this year than last year.
Pioneer is right. They ran as a pack for the first 2 miles and broke off the last two. They were running as a team.
