My SAT is also higher than my 5k PR. If yours isn't, I'm sorry but you're either slow or stupid.

And yes I mean out of 1600.
1420 SAT but only a 16:10 5k pr. I guess I'm slow.

I find it difficult to believe that so many people on Letrun scored that well on the SAT. What do you people do for a living now? Were all of you high scorers National Merit Scholars?
I took the SAT cold before the recentering in the mid-1990s and scored a 1330 and was a National Merit Scholar. I obviously didn't run faster than my SAT score.
I eventually attended a top-14 law school and am a practicing lawyer.
You were a National Merit Scholar with a 1330? I got a 1300 in the mid 90s and got absolutely nothing. One of my good friends scored 1560 and was a National Merit Semi-finalist.
These threads always crack me up. Later bloomer here. HS: 1050 SAT, maybe 19 for 5K but got into a top 15 or 20 small college; walked on after coaches saw me running, GRE 1650 for 3 scores 5K 16:15, got into a top 5 or 10 grad program for my field; post grad GRE 1960 and 5K at 15:11. Had a guy on my team that was about 1580-90 SAT and 14:40s for 5K. He kind of looked down on the rest of us.
SAT = 1550
HS 5k = 15:52 (or something like that; I just missed it)
Current 5k = 13:46

I do think some people exaggerate, lie, or misremember, but xc runners are generally fairly smart, and driven people.
Me:
SAT- 2250 (with writing)
5k- 16:03
IQ- 138
Conversation during a run on the MIT team?
"So I met this chick from BU and when I took the sin of her SAT and added it to the cos of her 5k, it plotted to within 2 standard deviations of mine. Pretty awesome, huh?"
MIT guys would realize that doesn't make any sense and thus not say it.
