The early rounds of the men's 1500 and the men's 200.
It's their right to run the 1500 however they want to, but I find the 3 laps warm-up with a hard 300 to be very disappointing, especially when so many guys needed the A standard. It's not like they were all doubling in the 5k and 1500.
I was disappointed that few of our best men even tried the 100/200 double. That's probably because our best are getting a bit long in the tooth and don't recover as fast as they once did, but I have a hard time believing we're sending our best group of 200m runners to the Olympics.
Overall, I think we're sending a pretty strong team to the Olympics. Even if they aren't favorites, I think we have medal possibilities in most events, which should make watching the games more exciting.
Note: If we don't advance our 1500m guys beyond the prelims I am going to blame our sit and kick tactics that are used far too often.
