Unless she's hurt, and I don't know one way or the other, Lashinda Demus is pretty close to a lock in the 400-meter hurdles, though no one is ever a total lock in an event which has stuff you can trip over.
Interesting. She was beaten pretty easily by Spence a week or two back. Not saying she can't or won't turn that form around but that's a bold call to suggest she's almost a lock
Rudisha asked to run on 4x400 team what will he split 44.5? better?
Family History
His father copped Mexico Sliver on the 4x400 and his mother ran 400IMs.
Unless he ran a shorter time this year his PR is 45.5
So a solid 44high carry can be expected

Daniel his father has a 45.5 yards PB can not find stats for his mother.
Rudisha schooled the 08 Olympic champion and his average race is over a second faster than anyone else. You guys talk about the 800 like its the marathon or something. The top 3 of the Beijing Olympics were pretty predictable, this years is even more so.

She has been awesome the last few years but so have Walker and Spencer. That event is wide open.
If you can lump together Wilson Kipsang and Moses Mosop, I would say that, together, they are pretty close to a lock to produce a gold in the marathon. I think I'd honestly put 90% odds on one of them winning, given that they start healthy.

I hear that there is this new fangled concept called information. Check it out some time.
Ummm... ever heard of Seb Coe?

Yah and Coe won an Olympic gold in 1980 and 84.

But not in the 800, which I think is the point.

Sheeeit. Bad timing on my part. Posted this a few hours after Mosop was announced as being out. In all fairness, it wasn't on LRC yet...

It was on letsrun yesterday.
I love how some idiots pull percentages out of their ass and act like it they have some sort of mathematical validity. "Oh, actually, according to a complex algorithm that I just made up, Rupp has a 19.3% chance of getting a medal in London".

Yah I know. That was my bad attempt at trolling.
Sure Rudisha is the favorite, but it's 3 races in four days. The body can do weird things after running 1:44 on back to back days.
::Robby Andrews wins the 800 in 1:39.99
Verzbicas will take the gold in the 800 and steeple.
