This fall I will be entering my last year of college and I really want to have a good last XC season before its all over. Throughout my career, I have been a decent, albeit extremely consistent runner. I made a huge jump from high school to college but haven't really improved since then (Freshman 8k - 25:44, Junior 8k - 25:40). I partly attribute this to my coach who has had me doing basically the same mileage and types of workouts every year (~75-80mi/wk, and most workouts are 4-5mi tempo/LT runs). Do you think that bumping my mileage to a consistent 100mi/wk and increasing my tempo duration would help get me off this plateau?
