She needs to train in Colorado for 50 miles a week, ditch the boyfriend, take some special juice, and bring back the pony tail it was magical!

We will miss you Jordan.
Jordan will be fine. She's just a little stale and in a plateau. She will go on to have a great career - maybe not quite as great as D'Agostino, Reid, Flood, or some of her rivals, but she will still be a big contributor to the US and still has LOADS of improvement to come.
With her swimming backround, she could revolutionize the steeplechase!
Her career is far from over. She is a JR in college. A more realistic goal from the get go would be 2016.

Now she's running in the 80s for mileage and seems to be doing 3 workouts a week!
If she's running 3 workouts a week and still hitting 80 miles, I think we've found the problem.

I am a female and hate when talks turn to weight, but to me it seems Hasay's performances have declined (or at least failed to progress) in relation to her body weight. Last year (2010) after cross she began to look ultra-lean, and even though she won two indoor titles her times were not that impressive.
In high school she was shorter but not as thin. Perhaps she would benefit by racing at a slightly heavier weight.
Just a thought. I am a HUGE fan and want to see her succeed...
She doesn't look too thin to me. She's definitely fit and shouldn't shed a pound, but I can't see how putting on 5 lbs of strength on that little frame is going to help her use less oxygen & run faster.
I appreciate what you're saying, but I think it's probably more complex. From what I understand she's also an excellent student (not uncommon for long distance runners - self discipline & everything...) Lots of changes in college - food, friends, social circles, tougher academics, being away from family, etc. It affects everyone differently.
My sister was a national-class runner in H.S. while living at home - all the comforts & support of home. College was a rough experience, she found it incredibly hard to maintain a very tough academic lineup and still train & compete at an even higher level.
aerobic development and racing much of the year are mutually exclusive.
Maybe she should be coached by Chris Derricks coach? He has been brought along beautifully and probably was less hyped than her out of high school.
I have absolutely no knowledge of how Jordan trains, but from the outside, she appears to be overtrained physically and mentally. Joradn will be ok, everyone hits a few dead spots in their career and as previously mentioned, she should give the steeple a try if wants to make to the 2012 Olympic team. Jordan 1500/5K PRs with decent hurdling puts her in the 9:3x range, which this year would make you competitive on a national level.
She will be homeless soon.
Derrick and Kroeger....both make A standard while attending school's with tough academic rigor.

She's just a junior hitting a plateau. Happens to the best of 'em. She'll likely have a great senior year, will be due for some big PRs and perhaps the World Championships in '13.
Yes, if you are referring to her junior year in high school. That is one extended plateau.
Let me start by saying I wish nothing but the best for this nice young lady.
However, this is exactly why I was so dismayed when she passed up Stanford to go to Oregon. Everyone thinks they're going to be an olympian out of high school; unfortunately the bloom of youth is extremely fleeting, and the chances of anyone being truly successful post-college [and even during college itself] are very, very low.
10-15 years from now, when no one cares about or remembers her running exploits, she's going to wish she had that Stanford degree.
It's all over very quickly, kiddies. Go to the best ACADEMIC school you can. If you're going to be an olympian, you can do it from anywhere.
Good luck to Jordan
she's washed up and living on Food Stamps like Pre. Keep the alcohol away from her1!
remember the days when you'd want to be in a Foxhole with Hasay http://bleacherreport.com/articles/640597-jordan-hasay-on-the-track-this-barbie-doll-becomes-gi-jane now she just waves the white flag of surrender.

Everyone coming out of high school recently has been less hyped, except possibly GF. And therein lies her problem.
