On Frank Horwill's website (Serpentine Running Club, or something like that), he shows that it takes ~6 800m races for a runner to max out their training. That number was for pros, but I think that I found the same when I was in HS.
You are 15. Just keep having fun racing and training, and you will break two soon enough. I ran 6 races one summer between 2:00.0 and 2:00.5 a little older than you (16, I believe), and I wound up running 1:58 in my first indoor race the next year without any specific training. It was probably just a case of getting more mature.
i wouldnt worry about it. i knew a kid who ran 2:00 to 2:02 over like 80 times or something like that. he didnt break 2:00 until the end of his college career. just being on an outdoor track with probably put you under 2:00. also, dont get your hopes up about world stage, no offense. i ran 4:50 in the mile with absolutely no training as a 7th grader. eventually became a mediocre D1 runner. doesnt mean you cant, but the way you say it, you make it sound like you are already banking on it.
Considering you are only 15 and have only run two indoor 800s I think that you are right there. Don't worry about it you are being too impatient. In a short while you will run a pr and then be looking at your next goal. You have a lot of years left in you so just focus on keeping your training consistent and you will see a lot of progress.
One guy I ran with last year both his junior and senior year didn't run under 2 until occ's his junior year he ran a 1:57 and senior 1:55 so you'll get there bro don't worry.
Have your mom sleep with your worst enemy. The 800 is best run on pure rage.

- you make me absolutely sick, dude. Go crawl back into your miserablneville of negativity. To the OP: DREAM BIG and you'll achieve big! Good luck!
Even Robin Williams ran sub 2:00.

That's a nice range, and very good times for 15.
Your program looks fine to me.
However I'd drop the weights, as they are sure to be interfering with your racing and slowing you down. Off season is the time to use them, if at all. But even then don't use them too much.
Took me forever to break 2:00 in the half mile back in the 70s. You'll get a bit older and do some good workouts and you'll have no problem running under 2:00.
Here's the type of workout that got me to 1:58 (I guess it would be more like a 1:57 for the slightly shorter 800).
Three miles warmup at 6:30 - 7:00 pace. Stretching. 6 x 100 stride on grass, starting at 5 minute mile pace and working to 4 minute pace. 1 x 600 meters in 1:30. Half mile jog. 2 x 400 in 55. Half mile jog between 400s. Note that this workout does not address top end kicking speed. I say that because I'd be in contention with 100 to go, then get outkicked!

Sounds to me like you would do best moving up in distance. You would probably be best at 5k - marathon.
I seriously lold hard!!!! 53 at 15 and you think he should move up in distance? I ran the same at that age and I was mainly a 400/800 guy with a few 1600s in high school. YOur best race will likely be either the mile or the 800 in college and beyond.
To the OP, how's your pacing during these races, perhaps you're not going out aggressively enough? If your in 53 shape and 4:25 shape at the same time you should be at 1:58 at the least.
Also, how in the heck do we not know who you are if you are a freshman in high school (assuming since you are 15, unless you are a young sophomore) a 4:25 in 8th grade would get tons of attention!

Yeah I think I should probably go out more agressive, and I'm from Ireland so that's maybe the reason haha
The problem with just going out more aggressively is that you did that and it didn't lower your total time. It's that second lap that is getting to you. 57 seconds would be a great first lap time for you, but only if you could come back and run the next lap in or almost at 60. Even running 200s and 100s no faster than 29-30 and 14-15 seconds will prepare you to run the second lap on pace. A balance between aggression and pacing.
