After reading her blog I am revising my prediction:
30% DNS
40% DNF
20% 2:33-2:35
10% > 2:35
Injury prone low mileage runner, has to take a week off from training in the final weeks of preparation before her debut. An goes in dinged up.
Not a good sign people.
I predict that either Lauren or Jesse actually started this thread.
2:34:17

So as long as she doesn't go sub 2:33 you'll be right on the mark!
Buzunesh Deba FTW
Lauren Fleshman DNS or DNF
Who the f u c k cares? Her mouth runs faster than her legs.

That's perfect. These athletes are endlessly bashed either for being hermits or for being "shameless" self-promoters. So which is it? And better yet, why does it bother so many LetsRun posters who shamelessly take advantage of their anonymity to hypercritically rip public figures and speculate on their personal lives without a shred of factual knowledge? Posts like this say more about the coward who wrote it than it ever could about the original subject being criticized.

I think LetsRun are going to fall in love with Mad Len

What are you insane? There is no way to take such ugliness with any seriousness or persuasive intent. You may not like L.F. for what ever reason, but I do, so do hundreds of others. Why, cuss she is positive, happy and willing to listen to anyone without a shred of arrogance or ill will. That ain't manufactured, just the way she is.
Too much, I think that your comment is over the top.
BTW If all goes well, sub 230. Either way the race comes out, she still remains a winner in my opinion.
DNF
My 13yo follows her religously. Lauren is a huge inspiration to her.
With heavy heart-DNF. I hope I'm wrong
BE REALISTIC FOLKS
This is a low mileage runners debut.
She ran the WC 5000 on Sept 2nd (2 months ago)
So a debut runner that was focusing on something else 2 months ago will be running in one of the most prestigious marathons in the world. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. She has a 10% chance of finishing.
This is strictly a payday.
2:26
I'm sure people said the same about Grete Waitz in 1978.....

Did you just compare Lauren Fleshman to Grete Waitz?
You are forcing me to pull this thread back up on Sunday afternoon.
I don't think she has much of a background for anything over 5k. I know she won the Xterra Trail National Half a couple times but she seemed to do those with tempo efforts. It looks like she just wants to try something new after a solid finish to the year so I say 2:42 if she starts and finishes. splitting 1:17 for the half.

I would agree Lauren is relly cute. But "hot"?
I perceive her as "hot" in part because she appears to have such a vibrant and life-affirming spirit. If she had, say Michael Moore's personality I'd no doubt view her very, very differently;)

fleshman will never match the accomplishments or be the legend waitz is, but timewise waitz ran her first marathon at new york in 1978 in 2:32.30 having never run more than 12 miles in a run, waitz was a 3k runner running i believe an 8:32 for a then world record a few months before new york, (she ran a 8:31 the following summer)
timewise 2:32 is very realistic for fleshman and running 2:24. 52 with a few years of specialisation is extremely possible even likely.
of course 2:32 is no longer close to a world record and neither is 2:24, so fleshman can run marathon times close to waitz's times, but to be as great as waitz was she would have to run 5-10 minutes faster than waitz on a consistent basis, which wont happen.
