I've ran explosively in 2 pairs of frees for my last 840 miles of running. Last week, after experiencing 5-6 days worth of some serious arch pain, I decided to get a less minimalist trainer, and bought a pair of the New Balance 890. I have a low, albeit inflexible arch and have always worn neutral shoes. I've been running in the 890s for 10 days now and they literally feel like a burden when running; the arch pain is gone but I'm heel striking alot more and can feel my stride is "clunkier." I'm running 65-75 miles a week and also wearing green superfeet, because I was wearing those before I began wearing the frees. Also experiencing some nasty blisters on my arch, about nickle sized. What should I do--ditch the superfeet? ditch the 890s and get another pair of frees? Buy a pair of frees and alternate running with the 890s? Any recommendations on other trainers, perhaps?
