bile if he trained at the capacity of his talent could be running mid 3:50 miles. better to be under trained than over trained

that's ambitious.
Let's be real, this kid ran 4:14. I don't care how he ran it, or how easy it looked. He ran 4:14. There are kids who are running 4:06-8 right now. That's 6-8 seconds faster than this kid ran. 6-8 seconds!!! Sure he might run just under 4:10, but nothing tells me this kid will even come close to 4:05 let alone sub 4. Call me pessimistic.
Bile is a huge talent who is surely capable of running under 4:10 for the mile
So is Ben Malone
So is the guy from WV and possibly Watkins, they all go in the Penn Relays mile Friday
Watkins can't hang on a fast pace. The WV kid (Burcham) has no kick. Bile is a mix of both of these. Ben Malone is going to have his way with these kids.
Really now?
Now, I think Malone is the best prospect of all of them, But if folks have difficulty see Bile at under 4:10, Malone's PR for 1600 in 4:11.xx
The WV guy has run 1:51 scratch and 4:07 already
I think Ben Malone can beat them all off moderate to slow fractions, we shall see if he is sub 4:07 capable? Maybe?
You can run 1:51 off of strength and not have much of a kick at the end of longer races. Malone ran 1:49 indoors and was clearly in 4:07 shape or better indoors considering his speed and xc strength (did you see his run at holmdel?). Bile will run maybe just under 4:10 this year, but nothing leads me to believe that he will have that great of a year. Especially not with his sit and kick style that people earlier were talking about. He can't even lead a race till the last 200, how does he expect to run 4:05?
this is a video of Malone's 4:11 1600m. It looks like he wasn't even trying for the first 1200 and he let up big time in the home stretch once he realized he won by a lot. If he was in a fast race with good competition like he had at the NBIN 800 that he won, I think he could have gone 4:06 or 4:07 last winter. He has a shot at 4:05 at Penn.
your an idiot if you think Bile doesn't have a kick
and those of you who can't see Bile under 4:10 shoulda seen him last year at VA States outdoor when he ran 4:09.xx running 2:10 and then 1:59. as cocky and annoying as he is the kid is good. He will undoubtedly win Penn Relays but not by much over Malone in second. you saw it here first
Dude, "apparently" you have not seen many Ben Malone races, he is not a front runner either, and would rarley lead until he over takes people late
and YES I was at NJ MOC in XC, pther than it being a great run for a junior, not sure of any point made there, he did not win that race
Surely Malone can run 4:06 I would think, I would think Burcham could and Bile maybe near that
Watson, I am not so sure and Magaha ran 4:07 1600 last spring and 1:48.82 last week
What the PR Boys Mile needs is a runner to do a "Ned Willig @NBIN" and pull the train. Willig went 27/54/120.5
and set up Malone/Watson
Can/Will someone/anyone take the pace, and say screw it I'm getting a time.
If the fractions are slow, plays to the Watson/Magaha
Malone trioka. Pressing the pace, you atleast depart with a good time
Please give me an example of how Bile is cocky and annoying? If there is ANY elite runner in the country that is humble, it's Bile. You must not know him even slightly because Bile is genuinely one of the nicest, charismatic, and down to earth elite runners I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and trust me, I've met a lot of elite runners.
Drew Magaha is way too inconsistent. After a performance like his 1:48, I bet he poops the bed and runs like 4:15 at PR.
Bile has already run a 1:51 this year completely by himself from start to finish. once he gets some competition in the post season he'll be pushing 1:48 or so. As far as the mile, he also needs more competition. he makes a 4:14 look easy
Ahmed had an excellent Senior Year, maybe not becoming quite the national phenom that some of us predicted, but successful none the less. I think he has a bright future in running and hope he continues to see progress @ Georgetown. I think we have a future NCAA 1500 Champ in our midst.
Just a little recap of Ahmed's Senior year:
800: 1:49.85 @ New Balance Outdoor Nationals for 1st
Full Mile: 4:04.11 @ Adidas Grand Prix (Dream Mile) for 7th place, just under 3 seconds behind winner Bernie Montoya
5000: 14:38 @ Foot Locker South for 2nd, to Craig Nowak
2x AAA State XC Champ, 2x Foot Locker National XC qualifier and I believe 2x All-American in XC. Multiple State Track titles and a national title in the 800.
Bile has an extremely wide range with strong speed and endurance. I think he is capable of being a threat anywhere from 800m to 5000m on the track as well as a strong addition over 10000m in XC. I expect several All-American finishes throughout his NCAA career including a 4th in the 800 and 1st in the 1500 Senior year.
Graduating college with PRs like:
1:46.79 for 800
3:37.61 for 1500
3:53.50 for 1600
14:10 for 5000
Under any circumstance, I see many great things and exciting races to come from this young man and wish him all the luck in the future. He's had an excellent year and I hope to see him in major contention for the Olympics in 2016.
I heard he has a big shlong.
He has a solid pecker for sure. Haven't seen his dads, but I'm sure he's holding his own in the bile dope dick department.
