This coming year?
awesome
Ive seen him at a couple meets and seen his facebook and the kid seems kinda cocky and full of himself.
I have a feeling this is gonna be the kid that follows in Lukas V's steps and breaks 4. Knowing his dad fairly well, I k now how carefree ahmed is and how much love for the sport he has which is exactly what one needs. My predictions for ahmed are:
1:47.55
2:22.83
3:59.76
8:48.95 (If he decides to take a serious effort at the 2mile)
14:39 (at FL South which is a pancake flat course)
Call me crazy, but I think this kid is it.
You're crazy. Those predictions are absolutely ridiculous. He'll be lucky to run 1:49,2:26, and 4:08.

The good news is that he just starting running as a soph. His father was a great athlete winning NCAA's championships and he beat Coe and Overt to win at the '86 World Championships by outkicking Coe down the stretch.
Sorry to be pedantic, but there weren't any World Champs in 86! I think your memory is slightly confused.
Bile out sprinted an out of sorts Cram in 87 World Champs. Though Cram would have had to be at his very best to have beaten Bile that day.
Bile beat Coe in the 89 World Cup after an incident at the beginning of the home stretch when Bile cut into Coe's space. There was less than a metre between them at the end, but Coe was past his best at 33. Bile was world ranked NO. 1 that year.
I'd like to think I'm a pretty reliable source, and all I have to say is Ahmed doesn't train like any other runner in the country. He'll run fast barring any injury (I'm not going to make any wild predictions on here) and expect him to perform pretty well at the national level meets as he already has done in the past. Oh and I can verify that he just recently began running consistently every day of the week (I told you he doesn't train like other runners).
sorry, but if you're not running every day, you're wasting a gift. it'll always be about results, and he very well may get the results, the kid's a world beater, but If it comes down to him versus a kid who puts his heart and soul into it, i'll be rooting for the grinder everyday. But hey, what do I know? We trained to exhaustion when I was in school, I probably would've been better off with less.

I would agree with you but there are a number of reasons why he just started running consistently every day. His season went way into June, and then he took his break. He's trying to peak in December, and quite frankly hes somewhat injury prone so easing into a season is what's best for him. So please don't take that as him being lazy or not putting his heart and soul into running.
Bile is very lucky that he has a coach like Vig so close to him, they will be a great team!
Vig-Manzano: multiple NCAA championships, mutiple Penn Championships, Olympics
Vig-Andrews: multiple NCAA championships, multiple Penn Championships, soon to be Olympics
Vig-Bile: going to be the same stuff as listed above
He will cause the term "American-Born" to become useless, and will usher in the more direct and honest term: "white dude".
Right. The wc's were in '87, with crammy taking the brunt of abdi that day. I believe his last 800m was 1:46/1:47? Can anyone confirm? Abdi is one of the nicest guys around. Loves tons of sugar with black tea in it.
what does that even mean?
How was Ahmed NOT invited to the Nike Elite Camp this year? He is clearly top 5 guys returning. He proved himself on the course, and has better speed than any of the kids that went. What are the criteria for being invited? Nike should hold their heads in shame.
My guess is that Nike doesn't feel like he'll go to NXN.
This kid is the real deal. Ran 4:14 full mile closing in 2:00 and making it look like a jog. Ran 1:51 completely alone into a crazy wind/rain. My guess is he runs ~4:04 at Penn and 1:48 at some point this year. HOYA SAXA
This kid is going sub 4:02 at Penn
WTF is a full mile? Is that longer than a mile?

A full mile (1609.344m) as opposed to a 1600m which is oftentimes called the mile.
Clearly top-5, you say?
