Florida runners take down runners from across the country daily, but we get no respect what-so-ever. If you think there is a better state that produces more sprinters and mid-distance and distance runners of a high caliber please inform me.

Distance wise, Florida's top guys can hang with the best, no doubt. But for a state its size, in CC, it lacks the sheer quantity of guys that are sub 15, 16, and 17, as well the strength of teams. Just look at the results from the past few state meets. And Little Everglades is not a particularly challenging course, depending upon the weather that day. I would know; I raced it six times. And the disparity in the state by region is pretty amazing. I kidd you not, with the exception of a few schools, ie Miami-Columbus and Belen Jesuit, the calibur of teams in South Florida may be the weakest in the country. I don't know what it is, but they can't seem to get it together. Florida's southernost 3 counties are very populous, but there are teams there that make it to the state meet in CC that would be middle of the road JV teams in many regions throughout the United States. This is not without some glaring exceptions however, for example, Del Valle, Pickering, Mizereck, and Atkinson, and a bunch more, in recent years.

NJ, dawg. Two words: English Gardner
God damn Rhode Island bitches! We got . . .
Shit, never mind.
also floridians can really only train 7 months out of the year whereas other state can all year long..you may not know but when its 94 and 85% humidity it is impossible to train

That could not be further than the truth. Summers are tough, but the even the remotely serious teams and athletes find a way to get it done, and it is the norm in Florida for HSers to do their base-building over the summer.

You may not know, but when its -15 out its impossible to train.
Also, I'd through Michigan into the hat. Population to footlocker champs ratio is great.

Wow, no wonder why the South gets destroyed at Footlocker every year. That's a mild summer in the Midwest where the temp and humidity go way over that, and the air just sits stagnant over you, and isn't canceled out by the ocean breeze. Yet the Midwest go out and train in that, would laugh at the idea of not training at 94 and 85%. In addition to the wussified summers you have no freezing winter at all. No wonder you guys suck so badly, so freaking pampered.

What you said. Complete Crap. Try again.
I can't tell you how much I'd rather train in the deep south all year round rather than Illinois. Winter running clothes are expensive and it takes a lot more motivation to go out in 10 degree weather for a long run.
Illinois does not have the best individuals up front, but we do have some great team depth. This year, York, NV, and Palatine all should be national trophy contenders and have storied programs with some college success. I'm sure the Xth best team from Illinois can hang with the Xth best team from any other state in the nation.
Lukas Verzbicas isnt the best individual up front???
I'm from florida, grew up in one of the great cross country programs of the state(Wolfson) and I can tell you since I moved to germany and started training at a decent altitude with hills my running has improved immensely(1550 5K PR living in Florida for HS and College, 1405 PR in the 6 months since I have moved to Germany). FL will never be great because the altitude and terrain won't really ALLOW it. there is a lower glass ceiling in Florida than almost any other state due to that.
