I'm thinking of entering a 1500 meters race and I don't own any track spikes. The race will be on ASU's synthetic track. I'm 53 years old and haven't raced at or near this distance since high school. I have been doing my intervals at a local high school and at the speed I think I will run maybe 6:15 for the 1500 I don't think there is much slipping or lack of traction. At that pace would I see a faster time with spikes than with my light weight trainers?
