The Nets, The Knicks, and the Bulls all had money to spend on free agents. Lebron, Wade, and Bosh could have gone for maximum contracts had they went to different teams. Instead, they took less $$$ for a potential championship. The NBA has a salary cap. This isn't MLB, where the Yankees can outspend any small market team.
If Lebron was just about the money, he would have stayed in Cleveland. Your argument fails.
All of you who say the NBA is fixed are simply stupid. Just stupid. You're just the ones who look for a conspiracy in EVERYTHING. It really is annoying. No good or amazing thing can happen without a group of you making up some crazy reason for why it happened or, in some situations, why it didn't happen. Just try to enjoy the games. Or, don't watch them at all.
I'll take Mavs in 6.
Stop it!..., there is no fixing of NBA games from the NBA. One guy in recent years was charged with betting on games. The NBA as a whole does not fix the games, there are too many variables to control. Stars get calls because they are stars, not because the NBA is fixing games.
MJs famous last second shot to beat the Cavs was a fix?
I'm sticking with my preseason pick of the Miami heat. It makes me laugh how everybody was talking so much shit about this team when they were 9-8. I was over in the corner laughing my ass off. Wade plus James is the best tandem in a long time.
You clearly didn't read my post. I didn't say the NBA "fixed" games, though there is a precedent for refs betting on games (and I think it would be foolhardy to think that there was only one). What I said was that they have more influence on the outcome; they determine flow and tempo more than in any other pro sport. At least we're in agreement that the "big-time" players GET the calls because of their notoriety. That, in and of itself, means there is a lack of a level playing field. That's the point. And I already said that players still need to sink important shots, so there was no need whatsoever for your last comment.
The referees have more influence in the NBA than any other professional sport, which makes it a choreographed joke

OK maybe You in particular, didnt say fixed. "Choreographed joke" sounds like the outcome is predetermined
Of course refs have an influence on the game, with tempo, foul calls etc..just like in baseball and other sports. Teams have to adjust.

except for the point that the Stars won the Stanley Cup your statement is correct

Against Utah, Jordan's last shot which wins the Championship - He pushes off but does not get called for the foul.

4th quarter freethrows
Lakers 19/24
Kings 7/9

why would someone want to fix a championship game so a small market team could win? so d-wade gets the calls and Dirk doesnt because why? in the NBA finals between these two teams before, why would miami get the nudge into greatness? i believe NBA officials call games in favor of the home team or in accordance to which team has momentum...as for calling a game completely one sided so a specific team can win, now youre pushing it.
my prediction is heat in 6 games. why?...because haters gonna hate and try and point out why lebron shouldnt win or why wade shouldnt have 1 ring already. make them the villain and they will just play better. the heat are a better team and dirk will get dominated (or at least his team will) Lebron will take one more step in the direction of ending his career as the greatest player to every step on the court...
A missed call or incorrect call dont = fixed
Bingo! look at the effin OK.Thunder - they tried to blackmail the taxpayers of Seattle into building them a new stadium. When that didnt work they got the fools in OKC to build them one

Bosh/wade/lebron is impressive, but not nearly as impressive as kobe(the second greatest player to ever play basketball--next to MJ, and better than lebron ever will be or has been.
Kobe isn't even the second greatest Laker ever to play.
MJ wouldn't make it in today's NBA. He'd be playing in Italy.
Scotty Pippen on the radio today said that while MJ was the greatest scorer to ever play the game, LeBron has the potential to be the greatest player ever.http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/early-lead/post/scottie-pippen-lebron-james-a-greater-player-than-michael-jordan/2011/05/27/AGajioCH_blog.html

I know you are joking, but didn't Pippen play in Europe until recently (well into his early fourties)?
Unlike Derrick Rose, Dirk can create his own shot at will. If you double team him, he will shoot over it or pass to a wide open shooter. If Peja and Terry are on with the three-ball, this is Dallas in 5 or 6.
Tyson Chandler is going to be impossible to keep off the glass, and I highly doubt that Chris Bosh is going to continue the high level of play that he was exhibiting in the last series.
This series is also going to be a lot more up and down, not that slow, methodical garbage that we saw in the ECF. Mavs are the better team. This is where a solid, deep, team will outweigh the two and a half superstars.
Ask Ray Allen what happens when you rely too heavily on a 3-point specialist in the finals. In fact, has there ever been an NBA champion that has relied heavily on the 3?
