America believes he did it, we don't care.
i.e. football, baseball, track, etc. We shake our head but man do we love the home runs!

How many footballers dope? My guess is its more than 90%.
Just my take.
Do I think he doped? yes
Has there been a credible person come forth? no
So as far as the grand jury and all of that I don't see how they can say that he doped. Hamilton is just trying to sell his book to make money. I respect Lance for how much he has helped those with cancer.

Yes, Betsy Andreu. She has no dog in this fight. Roberts(?), his former masseuse. Anderson, his former mechanic. The list goes on and on. Do you really think all of these people have something to gain by telling lies against Armstrong?

You misunderstand the consequences of perjury with a federal grand jury. Plus, if these accusations were all false, it seems as though Lance could sue the sh*t out of them. My guess is he's afraid to put himself on the stand.

Livestrong.org's mission is cancer awareness, not research or treatment. I'm certain his organization has done some good for cancer patients along the way, but don't mistake his organization for those that really put their teeth into cancer research. If you look closely, he's making a ton of money on his cancer, most of which is put in his own pockets via Livestrong.com and not the .org division.

I agree. Lance's story is amazing and inspiring. However, he is an asshole and a bad person. If you don't think he cheated you are a moron.
Shut the F*** up.

Are you talking about soccer?
People who play soccer are called footballers.
Poeple who play football are called football players.
Just wanted to be clear.
So you think he's clean and was able to beat all of the riders who were doping?
Someone else made a good point. If Tyler Hamilton is lying, why doesn't Lance sue the crap out of him? Also, as someone else mentioned, Tyler will go to jail if he's lying about this.
Also, why would Tyler want to do this for publicity? He should know how much Floyd Landis has been ridiculed for going against Lance. Floyd couldn't even get signed by another team b/c he ratted out on Lance.
I think when Hincapie's testimony comes out, more people will believe that Lance doped.
To people who say innocent to proven guilty, do you really think Barry Bonds didn't knowingly take steroids, HGH, or injections? He wasn't convicted of those so he must be innocent!(sarcasm)
OJ Simpson wasn't guilty in criminal trial. Do you really believe that he really didn't kill her?
Come on, stop that nonsense of innocent until proven guilty in the court of public opinion.
I actually would like to see some evidence that proves he cheated before I decide I am convinced that he did. Lance Armstrong is tested ALOT and tested by people that truly want him to fail every drug test. In an era where everyone with millions of dollars still get caught cheating by random drug tests how can you use the argument that he has enough money to get the best drs to help him cover it up? People believe he cheated because they don't understand how he could be innocent. That is not the same as being guilty. All of those other people that came out like hamilton and landis, far from credible witnesses. They clearly have an axe to grind and maybe they don't understand how he could have won without doping either. That doesn't mean he did it. Referencing Barry Bonds and OJ Simpson is ignorant because they are completely different types of situations. Barry Bonds was caught, Lance Armstrong wasn't. We were to use the same standards of guilt or innocence that the courts used to pass judgement on a Murderer, such as OJ Simpson, you would have to say that Lance Armstrong is not guilty. The fact of the matter is that Lance gets tested as much as anyone by people that are convinced he is a cheater but he has still never failed a drug test. How do you explain that? I don't know if he cheats but just because someone does something amazing doesn't me he had to cheat to do it.
First, I am not a moron. Second, I have friends who compete in cycling, and are good enough to go to Europe to compete. In short, they say " in cycling, to stay at the top, everybody takes something that is banned. Everybody."
So, we are naive if we think Lance won 7 Tour de France's and did not do something that is considered cheating.
Second, why is Carl Lewis' name in here? The OP has his name as a known cheater. Really? By who? Did he get caught using something? Then please tell me why it is ok to accuse him, even though he was never found guilty by anyone, but not ok to accuse Lance?
Carl Lewis has been out front about illegal drug use. He has been spearheading the way to test everybody. Lance has been very quiet. He doesn't want anyone tested. See the difference?
One acts like an innocent person, while the other acts like a guilt person hoping it all goes away.
I know substance abuse is common with sprinters. It is also more common with cyclists. This is reality.
I dislike those yellow bracelets.

I hate when people use the word transcends.
Casey Anthony was innocent by the way.

He probably was doping, but not any more than any of the people he was beating. It was a level playing field.
It's similar to Bolt. He's clearly on drugs but so are the other guys. Although I wonder if the Jamaicans are doing something differently and have found an unfair advantage. There are way too many fast Jamaicans right now, it seems statistcally improbable you'd have such a small population have 4 of the 5 fastest runners on Earth.
So explain about Linford Christie, Donovan Bailey and Ben Johnson's roots.
Even if he was a doper, everyone else is too, so it's still an inspiring story of hard work etc.
Also, I think we have sort of an ancient-Sparta thing going on with doping. In ancient Sparta it was considered perfectly acceptable to steal, as long as you weren't caught. If you were caught then you were a immoral, cheating stealing little thief. Same thing with doping - it's fine as long as you don't get caught.
Ditto,
I have a friend who was on the Motorola and Postal service teams with lance. This guy was not taken to the tour because he would not "get on the program", yet they took Lance, tyler, and George, form your own opinion.
i think folks who believe armstrong was clean also prob believed in santa claus until they were 10 years old
seriously i dont give a rip if 12 people would acquit him in a criminal trial, that's not the gauge of things. The probability that he NEVER doped is minescule when you factor in all that IS KNOWN about him and the cycling world and what people close to him have revealed
yes his story of adversity makes people loathe to come to terms with the truth or the most probable truth
Carl Lewis never officially tested dirty. He had taken a cold medicine that contained a substance that isn't even on the list now and was proven then not to be a perfor mance enhancer.
Transend sports? I might agree if he wasn't very likely a doper. Does it seem reasonable that a "moderately successful triathlete" could go on to be the most successful TdF rider in history without drugs?
We'll never know, but PED use as a young triathlete/cyclist might have increased his risk of cancer. Wouldn't that be ironic?!
Regarding his post-cancer success:
* have positive test been covered up?
* did he receive advance notice of testing?
* did he get extended time before taking tests (ie, shower story)?
* did he have exclusive access to one of the top doping doctors?
* how many other top athletes have made donations to their governing body? conflict of interest?
Yes, he's been tested many times, but there is plenty of evidence to show that he hasn't been tested anywhere close to the number of times he claims. If he's clean, why would he lie?
"Sticking it to the French?" What have the French ever done to you or to Lance? He simply rode the coattails of the anti-French sentiment that George W. used during the buildup to the war in Iraq. It looks like some bought it hook, line, and sinker.
Why is it likely the Jamaicans have an "unfair advantage," but it's not possible for Lance to have had an unfair advantage over his competition?
BTW, Lance tested posted in his first post-cancer Tour, but officials accepted a back-dated TUE. It's been reported that a positive test from the Tour of Switzerland was covered-up. The '99 samples could not be used based on WADA's criteria for sanctioning a rider, but the testers have no doubt that Lance's samples were positive tests.
Get beyond the smoke and mirrors and it seems obvious that Lance was a VERY successful doper.
It is very difficult to believe Lance never cheated, especially in his first TDF coming off of cancer treatment. There is a common belief that he used prior to his first TDF supposedly as part of his medical treatment to rebuild muscle and increase cardio. He was not being testing during this time becasue he was 'inactive'. With that said, just about all of the top tour athletes were using in the late 90s, which indicates he was still an incredible athlete to be the best of dopers.
It is had to believe Lance was using in his last couple of TDFs becasue there was an all out effert to bust him. He was tested more frequently than a lab rat, people wen't through his garbage, interviewed all sorts of people who came in contact with him, etc. In fact, Lance invited the scrunity. I suspect there are riders who know he used at some point in the late 90s and becasue of that assume he was always using.- Lance ran a respectable marathon at 185 pounds, with no proper training and horribe looking form...this indicates he has an exceptional natural cardio system...unless you think he was stupid enough to dope at the NYCM.
For the same reason you can't believe all the top marathoners are on drugs. They have been caught yet.
Either you are way overthinking things, or are a troll. We all want the people we like to be good people. Just like good girls like bad boys, good guys like strippers, and americans like homerun hitters.
As for Lance.....
not guilty/not innocent.
