Why America can't believe Lance cheated

I agree. Lance's story is amazing and inspiring. However, he is an asshole and a bad person. If you don't think he cheated you are a moron.

I don't believe it, but only because A) to me, innocent until proven guilty and B) I don't know/pay enough attention to really form my own opinion on the matter.

I believe that no one can win the Tour de France without doping, so I was always suspicious of him.

I realize he's dedicated and courageous and inspirational, but many people, both in cycling and in his personal circle, have made huge sacrifices just so Lance can bask in glory. I'm not impressed by people who just accept that like it's their divine right or something.

My opinion on Lance is as follows. I think he's clean just because of the number of times he's been tested and volunteered for extra testing. That being said, even if he came out as a drug cheat I wouldn't care even a little. Why? Because when he was winning all his Tours, every single rider in the peloton was dirty as can be. So even though he was doping so was everyone else, basically canceling it out. And yea you can tell me everyone reacts differently to drugs or he had better stuff, but what it really comes down to is he was kicking the shit out of the best dopers in the world on a yearly basis. There is no way he was such a better doper than everyone that he wasn't beaten in those 7 years, someone woulda found something. So in the end it doesn't matter how you slice it, he was the best, ever, period, no question. And that is something I respect.

He has no integrity. He cheated. If everyone else kills someone should you?

Lance is simply the most fascinating athlete of all time. His career is over, yet the most dramatic fight of all may only now be about to happen.

1) He never failed a drug test

2) Even if he did cheat, everyone he beat also cheated. Many of his top competitors during his 7 wins have been tested positively.

3) Tyler Hamilton is jealous of Lance's success and is trying to get back in the spotlight, pathetic.

Obviously there is a very good chance he was dirty.

Dont trust Hamilton; stayed quiet for profit then and is speaking up for profit now.

If he was truly the honest guy he wants us all to think he is why did he wait so long....

It's similar to Bolt. He's clearly on drugs but so are the other guys. Although I wonder if the Jamaicans are doing something differently and have found an unfair advantage. There are way too many fast Jamaicans right now, it seems statistcally improbable you'd have such a small population have 4 of the 5 fastest runners on Earth.

How about Kenyan marathoners on the world performance lists and statistical probability? How about the statistical probability that no Chinese or Indian sprinters who have run sub-10? Let's hear you explai nthose.

I completely agree. I think I could have retained some amount of respect for him since I would say 95% of the riders are doping which places him on an equal scale. However, he's written biographies and been quoted in countless interviews SPECIFICALLY denying ANY form of drug use that would be considered illegal and aid in his performance. To me, this is worse than the actual fact that he does indeed dope. I did have a naive belief before graduate school (Exercise Science major) that he was clean and I held that romantic idea that he's just a blue-collar guy from Texas who's ripping sh*t up overseas and other athletes are jealous of his amazing talent and hard work. Unfortunately, after my past two years as a student and hours spent researching for class and assignments, I can safely say it's virtually impossible for him not to have doped in order to win the Tour. I'm not claiming to be anything close to smart, but it's only common sense at this point. Part of me still loves Lance. I know he simply wants to be that working-class hero for the American public and it's not like it's a bad icon to be. But either way, a liar is a liar and a cheat is a cheat.

Too little, too late as far as Armstrong (if he was dirty)....the damage was already done by Bonds, Jones, Clemens and others years ago...Novitzky has wasted millions of taxpayer $$ on old news..I'd have more respect for the Govt. if they would go after current dopers getting away with it as we speak..this way the honest athletes today can be on a clean level...we all know who they are--Aroid? And if Clemens is guilty, what happens?? The Yankees will give up their 2000 World Series trophy to the Mets?? Like that's going to happen...

Just because Lance continually makes this claim, it doesn't make it true. If you look at the records of the organizations (WADA, UCI, ...) that test cyclists, you'll notice his claims are far from accurate. He's not even the most tested cyclist, much less "the most tested athlete in the world" as he has claimed over and over until everyone thinks it's true.

It doesn't make it ok either. Evidence appears to show that Lance had exclusive access to one of the top doping doctors (Ferrari). Was it a level playing field if he had positve tests covered up by the UCI? Are you aware of the significant donations he's made to the UCI? Would you think twice of Bolt sent $100,000 to the IAAF? Maybe a little conflict of interest.

How come pre-cancer/pre-Ferrari Lance wasn't much of a grand tour rider and then suddenly he's the best Tour de France rider of all-time? Amazing improvement from a guy who was struggling to finish 3 week tours.

I was a huge fan of Lance, but come on, how many people have to come forward to confirm that Lance is dirty? Are they all lying? Of the top of my head, I can think of:

1.Tyler Hamilton

2.Landis

3.Irish Massage Therapist (said she disposed of medical waste for Armstrong).

4.Greg LeMond

5.Either Hincappie or Andrieu, cant recall exactly.
