What's the deal with the Saucony Kinvara??

Probably because the Kinvara 2 is coming out next month.

Love the shoe. Mine lasted about as long as any other shoe.

Switched only because the store was out and I really need to get new shoes.

Probably a new color coming out. Anything is better than the hideous orange.

Personally, the Kinvara's last the same as all the light trainers for me, ~500 or so miles. My oldest pair are probably beyond 600 and show no excessive wear, but I feel it in my bones when the mileage gets that high. Enough complain of fast wear that there must be something to it for some.

I can't imagine they're phasing them out yet as they seem immensely popular and are only in their second year. Seems like Running Warehouse can barely keep them in stock... Great shoe, as is the Launch. I say buy em' up at 60 beans!

Use them as everyday shoes. Last me 300-400 miles

I glanced at a review recently that said their new Hattori fits and performs much better than the Kinvara does.

The foam on the sole seems really soft and the thinness of the upper material seems like it would tear easily. I read the review on the next version and there isn't going to be much change in the shoe from what I gather.

The kinvara 2 is the exact same midsole. There are some very minor tweaks to the upper, i think it's a lighter mesh. Overall, not much difference.

The Hattori is sweet, btw. MUCH more minimal that the kinvara if that's what you're into. They have slightly different audiences as the hattori is a bit more racing oriented (velcro closure for the triguys), but I can't wait for them nontheless.

i had the same problem... the outer triangle stubs under the ball of my pinkie toes wore down completely to the sole in 200 miles

I've found that if I ShooGoo the little triangles on the outsold I can easily get over 500 miles in the Kinvaras. I Goo them about twice a week, run in them about 4 days a week, roughly 10 miles per run.

I was tempted to buy a pair. I was at a local road race last weekend and there were a TON of people wearing these shoes.

I ran on a treadmill for about 4 miles and did some speed work and that is it. The other one is brand new, but no box. I have ankle problems and these shoes just do not work for me. Going back to Nike Lunaracers.

Is already at my store waiting for someone to buy it. We have had it over a month at this point.

My son trains in them so I was going to buy a pair the other day thru roadrunnerssports.com. They were out of my size and looked like the 2 was all that was available so I passed on them. I may buy a pair of the kanvara 2's later on, but it makes me mad when they keep changing a shoe model so quickly.

My son really likes them for training but, at 14, he is 5'7" and 115 lbs. I am a little heavier for my height. Hope to try them sometime.

I've got about 700 miles on my Kinvara, and they are still going strong. I think I'll get to 1000. Just bought a pair of Hattori and have worn them just once, so the jury is still out. Definitely much more minimal than the Kinvara, and I had a hard time running as fast...but I think it is a matter of getting used to them. I lied the Hattori as a first impression, but need to wear them more.

Doesn't the outsole (those little triangles) wear down quickly? How do you get 700 miles out of those??
