What sort of progress have you made and what sort of times are you running?
This might look bad. But I messed up my sciatic nerve so my leg loses coordination in a race over 1.5 miles.
But I pr'd by 7 seconds in the mile. 4:28 1600 last year, to 4:02 1500 this year. Pr'd by 10 seconds in the 3200 DURING a 5k race that my leg lost coordination after 6 laps. I dnf'd that race. Also pr'd in the 800. Oh and I ran 8:45 for 3000 when my leg messed up with 2 laps to go as well. That converts to 9:27, so I pr'd in the 3200 by 20 seconds.
A better example would be my teammate that went from 9:00 3000 last year to 8:46. And another teammate of mine that went from from a 4:36 mile to a 4:06 1500.
Not everyone on our team runs as much as we do. Our coach has it individualized. I know for a fact if I didnt have sciatic problems I could break 15 for 5k right now.
