Its not a record unless you eat the 6 big macs before the 10k.

I like the idea that you eat the Big Macs anytime you want as long as you eat 6, before, after, or during the race. It allows for more entertaining strategies in the event.

Actually, it is a record. 6 big macs prior to the run would be more impressive, but no one has done that, nor has anyone yet provided documentation for doing it faster the way it was done here. Hence, a record.
Also, I don't think it matters how far the McDonald's is from the track, the point of this is to keep the rules simple. 6 Big Macs, a 10k in under an hour. The remainder of the extenuating circumstances are up to you. You can drink whatever you want, whenever you want, add stuff to the burgers, etc. Just so long as the 6 big macs you bought are finished and you've run 25 laps.
I would run 5 miles at 6:30-7:00 pace, probably what I personally would be very comfortable with, then walk fast for the last 1.2 miles while beginning to eat the big macs. 5 miles in 35:00 tops, probably take 20:00 at the most to walk the rest of the 10k, and ideally finish all 6 big macs or close to all by the time you finish walking the 10k.
Opinions? This would be a potential 50:00-55:00 finishing time
start running easy
start eating
keep running easy until 10 km is passed
keep eating until 6 BM's are down
sounds like an ultrarunner with an iron stomach might have a shot here.

Sounds like a recipe for puking. After witnessing Sean's discomfort while eating the half dozen Big Macs, I don't see how you could keep moving forward and keep the full meal down. Perhaps, briskly walking while eating the first three Big Macs over the final two laps might work. But I think you're going to need to sit and recover between bites for those last and toughest three.
I think it's going to be pretty tough to break this record.
Tis the 100/100 season again, and I was curious to learn if the Big Mac World Record was going to be under assault this spring. The current record has held for nearly a year, and while a strong mark, it nonetheless seems attainable.
Bump for all to co slider this summer. I'm very confident I could not complete this challenge. However, due to the difficulty of the challenge, maybe there should be a junior score to try and achieve. Clearly the full 10k is necessary, but once that is done your score would be the number of full Macs consumed. With a scoring system like this you'd see many more attempts, and would get a feeling for how difficult it really is. I'll be attempting to post a junior score in the next couple weeks.
Man! All I can say is that's a lot of BMs in an hour!
Jack Wallace might qualify as the junior score with his 4 Big Macs and a 10K in 57 minutes.
They used to do a race in Michigan called the Pork and Plod. They used Spam. Yummy! NOT!
BUMP!

That record stands and it will stay that way. My stomach flipped just watching that.
Why do the majority of posters on lets-run seem to be so disgusted by the average person’s diet yet idolise things like this?
This is very interesting and I will be pursuing it.
I had been exploring the feasibility of establishing a mark for Most Hotdogs Eaten While Running a Marathon but was discouraged to find that neither Guinness nor any sports governing body will ratify such an achievement. Something about "bodily harm " and " serious danger."
Seeing this thread has rekindled the fire to chase personal excellence outside the confines of the stuffy athletic bureaucracy.
It must be recorded for posterity.

Awesome thread, thanks for bumping!
I can't be the only one who thinks bowel movement each time I read BM in this thread, right?
