Do you have evidence to present that the entire Duck Nation understands what a major issue breast cancer is, how to prevent it, how to help fund a cure?

What did the DN thik all this pink has been about for all these years? I don't think you're giving the DN enough credit.
I'm certain that you're giving the DN too much credit.
I like the kid. Couldn't care less about the dyestat or letsrun hype. What drove me nuts about the interview is that AJ did not look in to the camera (maybe sunlight) and uses SO many audible pauses (um, ah, oha) as to detract from what he is saying.
I know we're not all perfect, but lets get some speech classes and work on interview skills. Please.
this is the same guy who celebrated his victory as he crossed the line in hte NCAA 1500, only to find out that he lost to someone (wheating) who yet AGAIN outleaned a self-absorbed idiot at the line. sure, spin it like he was happy that they went 1-2-3. like he knew. explain the shock on his face when the scoreboard displays the results.... the kids a tool, one interview doesnt change that
He seems like a decent young man. I hope he continues to improve and become a world class athlete. The interview was not terribly impressive. He mentioned "the cause" but never actually explained it. Essentially he was watching NFL football and thought of pink uniforms. Sounds like a good idea and then someone made it happen.

I've never heard or read anything about his class or lack thereof until I came to this thread. My only reference point is purely anecdotal in that he and I were in the same race a few years ago. Going into the last turn a few of us got tangled up trying to get position. I think I took the worst of it, it killed my momentum and I really faltered my steps which might have cost me a half second or so. I let an expletive escape and finished. I didn't know who bumped me or who was 'responsible' but I assume no one was and that it was just standard light contact in the final stages of the race. After the race AJ came up to me and apologized that he bumped into me. He explained that he got tangled with someone else behind me and bumped me by accident trying to catch his balance. He didn't have to do that, he wasn't at fault but he knew my race had been affected. He seemed genuinely nice and in my opinion it was a class move.
You however, seem like an utter douche bag.

This really happened and you have no self-esteem issues.

Hey dumbasses you really want to help, instead of spending money on uniforms made in sweatshops in China, donate that money to breast cancer research, fools
No amount of money for "cancer research" will cure cancer. There are many cures for cancer, but they will never be allowed to be mainstreamed, natural, cheap, and not able to be patented. All the profit is in sickness, millions of dollars in chemo which fails anyway, instead of something cheap and effective.
Oh boy, not you again. This is either Kevin Trudeau or the a$$ clown who was posting before, that fasting for weeks can cure cancer. Do tell Doctor, do tell. If you took the time to pay attention you might actually realize the NFL is more so doing this to raise awareness rather than money. As in, go get a mamogram.

By posting this reinvention of history (this was not how the race ended, I was there..saw it) throws into the toilet, any credibility you might have. Acosta never caught Wheating, knew it, but also knew that he had a tremendous breakthrough race for himself and his team. This kind of team "first" attitude has become sort of a trademark for A.J. And yes, you have confirmed that you are a douche.
Calm down nitwit. If wearing a pink uniform raises the awareness in one woman . . . who then gets tested, then it has helped.
Now tell us how ignorant a woman would be to have her awareness elevated in this manner.

you mean, auctioning the "proceeds", i.e., about 5% on every dollar. nice way to fall for the marketing schtick. whenever you see "prceeds", that's a sure loser in terms of actually benefitting the charity. like a previous poster said, just donate that money to the charity if you really want to do something, otherwise you're just making someone else rich.
having worked with for the arthritis foundation, I can assure everyone here THIS IS NOT HOW IT WORKS. "proceeds" is a very loose term, usually defined by the beneficiary...and in most cases means once you've covered the cost (of whatever it is you are fundraising) all profit are donated to the beneficiary.
this jackoff has no idea what they're talking about. Just another Oregon hater.

Anyone gets in the way of our capitalization, push them to the margins. Buckets for the cure!

Everyone knows what the color pink means by now, everyone knows the movement is going on, so how is wearing pink uniforms going to "raise awareness", not to mention motivate these people to get educated about breast cancer and then fund it. Pink isn't that powerful.
These are college kids you are talking about. They are doing what they can to help keep breast cancer awareness on everybody's minds, just like other school groups, other teams, other causes, etc. Many of the athletes, coaches and staff have family and friends who have been greatly affected by the disease. Every cent of the money raised by auctioning the singlets is being donated to the Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center. What have you done to support a cause lately? Hater, please learn to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Please learn to hate a little bit less.
