Just watched the interview. This young man is mature beyond his years. Good for him, especially after so many immature LR douche bags were knocking on him a few years ago.
10/10
If he's mature beyond his years then I'm the Queen of England.
He pronounces "pink" funny.
Also, he's a chill dude. People just hated the thought that a runner might actually have a personality.
I think you overestimate the poise that the average 22 year old male college student could manage to exhibit when put under a national microscope. Not that AJ appears to be the next orator of our time or anything like that, nothing spectacular, but he's not screwing up in a situation where a VAST majority of other would screw up. Props for that.

i will correct your statement for you.
good for him for finally growing up and reaching the maturity level of other people his age. it is about time after all the letsrun douchebags correctly called him out for it year after year after year.
This is an incredibly mature post.
How ignorant to think that PINK uniforms does anything for breast cancer. It does not. The NFL does it so the NFL can make more money. Everyone else does it to be politically correct. Hey dumbasses you really want to help, instead of spending money on uniforms made in sweatshops in China, donate that money to breast cancer research, fools

I'm pretty sure they're auctioning em and donating the money.

No amount of money for "cancer research" will cure cancer. There are many cures for cancer, but they will never be allowed to be mainstreamed, natural, cheap, and not able to be patented. All the profit is in sickness, millions of dollars in chemo which fails anyway, instead of something cheap and effective.
you mean, auctioning the "proceeds", i.e., about 5% on every dollar. nice way to fall for the marketing schtick. whenever you see "prceeds", that's a sure loser in terms of actually benefitting the charity. like a previous poster said, just donate that money to the charity if you really want to do something, otherwise you're just making someone else rich.

The death rates from many cancers has been falling steadily of late, and these statistics are at least 7 years old because the standard metric is 5-year survival rates, and so a current study uses data from 2004 and earlier.
Besides, while there is a lot of resources in treatment, who is out there trying to make that happen as opposed to curing someone -- argument needs a lot more than a vague assertion.
I actually think all the pink is over kill. Its a good gesture but the majority of the population are well aware of breast cancer. Just donate some money and you are fine.
Very good interview..Very good shot at the end with the group....Very nice..
Hey, wear gray in May for GLIOBLASTOMA!!!!!
Some of the character traits that make someone seem obnoxious when they're young and immature can help them turn into a well-spoken and even daring leader when they grow up. I know (somewhat) and like AJ and hope for that type of of thing for him - whether it's on or off the track.
As far as the XC part, I don't know if or when he's ever going to be great at the longer stuff, but obviously he made huge strides on the track last year and whatever he does this fall can support that.
People hated him, because runners aren't allowed to have egos.

better phrased: people hate him because runners aren't allowed to have senses of humor
alternative: people hate him because runners aren't allowed to have personalities
reality, a small but vocal minority on here hates him, the majority aren't douche bags

-very, very wrong and ill informed statement.
When you raise awareness, you increase donations. AJ just helped tremendously to help raise awareness among the Duck Nation.

The Duck Nation hadn't heard of breast cancer till now? Very odd.
