Dartmouth always sends their b team- their top guys go to prenats.
For the above posters, you might want to check Paul Short results- Dartmouth's "A" squad would easily win New England's.
"easily", eh? i guess we'll see. even with Paul Short only 10 seconds faster than FP, their 5 man only ran 25:07 FP conversion, plenty of teams have that fire power this year. and even so, i think it was probably closer to 20 seconds faster than FP. just because their an ivy their not automatically superior.

think he'll go out crazy fast again this year?
what other teams have firepower? i don't see another team that is entered that would have their fifth man at 25:07.
The only sure thing is that you will have to wait in line 30 min to take a crap.
Why does DII always seem to kick the crap outta all these D1 schools with so much more money?? I mean seriously, Lowell, and Stonehill dont have anywere near the money that an Amherst, Uconn, URI, or a BC do. Whats up with D1 Cross country in New England?....cause Lowell, and Stonehill arent even good in Div II!
Stonehill hasn't kicked the crap out of the DI schools. The last five years they finished: fifth, tenth, sixth, twelfth, and ninth.
UMass, Lowell, on the other hand has won the race 3 of the last 5 years, second once, and fifth.
Why? They are doing a good job.
But the New England Championships is not a primary goal for the division I programs in New England. Providence and Dartmouth don't really compete. Brown does ok at the meet.
BC has no men scholarships, URI and UConn put their money into track and field, with only a few distance runners.
Lowell seems to run better in New England than at the Div. II national championships. I've seen a lot of that on the track.
I don't know why that should be.

Just because they are a division 1 school's, that doesn't mean that they have unlimited scholarships. I'm sure many d2 programs have close to as many scholarships in men's xc that some d1 programs do.
For runners at schools like BU, BC, Northeastern, etc., without a scholarship have to dish out close to or over $50,000/YEAR. Many of these d1 cross programs only have a total of 3 full scholarships, that leaves 4 people on each varsity squad (let's not forget about the rest of the team) paying 50K/year (barring other aid/academic scholarships. That is where schools like Lowell have a leg up - walk ons. It's very hard or almost impossible for a school that costs 50K/year to get a 4:20 miler or 9:25 2miler to walk onto the team.
All-New Englands used to be a big deal, but with the DI Pre-Nat meet a week later and the Ivy's, in particular Yale, getting stomped on by the likes of Williams and Amherst many of the brand names stopped going and the sizzle is gone.
We'll leave it up to the bastions of higher education such as UMASS Lowell, AIC, and CCSU to show their stuff
well, i just heard dartmouth b team won new englands. so i think that proves my original statement that the a team would have owned.
woulda coulda shoulda, but didnt

In this case, only an idiot would say woulda could shoulda. (you are an idiot)
If their legit B team really won, that's straight up owning new englands. They can without any doubt say their A team would have crushed the field. Not really a woulda coulda shoulda type situation. It's a, we owned everyone with our slow runners situation.
yep, they were they only team out there that didnt run their fastest 5 in the varsity race

See you at Regionals...bring your A team.
Are you talking about this team? That lost to Purdue in Wisco on a lightning fast course?
