Young age, but not that young. Lukas is younger, as are the rosa's. This can not be disputed.
What is this supposed to mean? They haven't come close to his times.

Why the hell did he cut red meat out of his diet when he was feeling like shit? Are people really not aware that low iron is a huge problem for distance runners? I don't know what sort of problems cutting meat out of your diet would solve for a runner, unless you're overweight.
As are the Rosa's what? You're using the possessive so I know you must mean something by it. The Rosa's dogs are younger? Their cassowary is younger than Fernandez? Don't keep us in suspense like this!!!

If, If, If... he stays healthy can can pull off a 2nd place finish for them at xc nationals then I bet OK State can repeat. German, Lowe, Prentic, Who are the other 2 that are going to step up tho?

@ observationer- spot on. If you are eating it every night, then a decrease to 1-3 times/ week may be considered, but elimination- no way. Also is it possible to get full blown anemia this quickly?
Who said it happened quickly?
He never really ran well all xc season long. According to one interview with Dave Smith I read, it was something that (looking back) was apparently going on all fall xc season. They started to get it right over the winter and into indoor track...then the official walking out in front of him and a twisted ankle.

no its completely reasonable. high school kids run 6:10- 6:15 pace comfortably. 5:10- 5:15 is fast (faster than I would have guessed) but not unreasonable at all.
Its also not like this is his EASY pace. Likely just a comfortable long tempo run where yes conversations are possible when you are not running to fast.
lmfao

Because he went to Okie college, in stead of Oregon, where the coaches know better, the health monitoring is better, the support services are better, etc. etc. etc.
Geez, the University of Oregon Health clinic asked us and tested us for anemia in the 80's.
German's coach should have had him tested for anemia much sooner.
And what is with the George Michael double pierced earrings and the hilariously doofy kwepie doll hair doo???
He needs serious counseling, style and otherwise.

i am saying this and this is what i am saying.
the rosa's are younger than german.
during the 20th century, at some point, these people were borned.
And the time of the borning of rosa's's was later than fernandez. It is true, deny it at your peril.

That's why Oregon is better than OSU at cross country, right?

He probably means comfortable as in tempo pace comfortable. Lots of high schoolers can run 6:10-6:15 at a comfortable tempo pace. Easy runs for high schoolers should be closer to or above 7 mins. usually.
If I even see Fernandez finish the race, I'll be happy. Seriously. I personally do not see him passing Chelanga in cross country anytime soon, but I do see him contending with Derrick for a spot in the Top 5, given that he stays healthy of course.
On another note, where the hell is Puskedra?

About 73 places in front of German in XC, and racing at NCAAs in Indoors instead of losing a complete season to injury.
hahaha, way to back up puskedra for some reason. i wish i hated on german enough to do that. THAT WAS QUITE THE ZINGER.
