Hey, I'm 16 and going to be a junior in high school. Last year I ran with the team over the summer, and got in about 50 miles per week for my max by the end of the summer. That seemed like a lot to me, since my freshman year I had only ran like 35 miles a week.
But this year I've added a long run, and two a days 5 times a week. Do you guys think it's safe for me to do this? I'm hoping the added mileage (70-80 mpw) will help me to get under 16 minutes for the 5k. My best from last year was a 16:30.
