Just what the title says. I'm a high schooler in my second week of base building and in the mornings, I really have nothing to do at all until 1pm or later. I can't stop waking up early, it's like in my system. I'm loosely following Summer of Malmo but this is the only part of that 'program' that I don't fully understand if it's right to do doubles 'as much as you can.'
Anyways, if I'm only around 30-40mpw now and for the next two weeks, would I benefit from doing 3-4 mile runs in the mornings? I usually run around 7pm or 9pm.
I've heard a lot of mixed views on doubles and I just don't fully understand what they do or how to make them help. I only want to do these morning runs if they will benefit me. I don't want to waste my time doing something that won't affect me or will have a negative effect on me.
Can someone explain if I should do the morning runs and do doubles now at this mileage? If so, what should their purpose be and how fast should they be run? Will these help or no?
Please help.
