at what point, if any, can more mileage get in the way of progressing to the next level - other than injury & assuming person stays healthy? I suppose if higher mileage only gets in the way of one doing quality workouts because of a perceived injury risk then it could become detrimental but otherwise isnt that point really hard to reach?
background -
im a mileage fan but im not very fast. in college my d3 coach told me to stick to singles and 60mpw over the summers but keep the daily training pace always sub7 or faster. ive found personally though that i do better training at higher mileage at a variety of paces but generally anywhere from 6:45-7:30 over the summer.
What's your opinion on this stuff?
