This is the end result of what started decades ago, when Coleman Young was mayor of Detroit. What that man did to a proud city is just terrible. How many other places have lost over half of the population NOT due to a natural disaster, but a man made one? It is a real shame, Detroit was once a vibrant vital city. It still is in many places.
To raze abandoned buildings is a good thing, I hope it is planned well and parks and open space with access is included. Who knows? This could be a model for the future. Detroit and Michigan will one day be on top, they are making strides, but it has been tough.
