I have a co-worker who claims that during a long run he chafed between his butt cheecks. I'm calling schenanigans on that, butt (pun intended) I guess it's possible. Anyone hear of this or havei ti happen?
It absolutely happens, and it is no fun. It hurt much more than my bare feet ever have. (Not a joke.) Of course, since everyone else here on letsrun is a sub-2:30 marathoner, I'm not surprised you haven't experienced it.
Remedies for me include:
- Compression underwear
- Generous application of "chamois butt'r" before long runs.
Once, as an experiment, I shaved everything "down there." Naturally, it was just weeks before a marathon. I won't be doing that again.
