Girls are icky.
there are better females out there that are better spoken. like me. ha!
Don't be jealous. That's why I don't take the 'internet' serious. I might not be a better spoken person in writing but I can certainly take the heat on the boards and real life. Btw, I wasn't looking for kudos from you or anyone else.
Yeah, I admit I had to look up the stats for the Yanks because I was in a hurry, just like anyone can get a 'highlighted' version of a game off the net and start discussing it on here--didn't realize I had to have an argument to JUST post a comment that made you go off on your rocker...
I don't know exactly what PCT stands for but I do know it's about winning percentage/cumulative stats...dang didn't realize I was going to get drilled on specifics of baseball. Maybe, I actually enjoy watching baseball and know a bit or two about the game?
Later folks, I've got better things to do than keep posting on this thread!
get 'em gurllll
An ARod update: 0 for 8 with 6 strikeouts. Beautiful!! Series goes back to Philly for 3 games. Hopefully, the umps do a better job tomorrow, nice job on the 3rd strike call near the end of the game and that double play call where the runner clearly beat the throw. Bud Selig, hello?
the umps could also review the "double play" that howard made, where the real call would be that there actually weren't any outs made. you gotta think about them both ways brother.
And yes, nothing sweeter than seeing A-roid going 0 for 8.

Not as of Game 4 on Halloween. Go Yankees! Beat Phillie!
Past is prologue. Lidge blew two saves against the Yanks in interleague in May and does it again tonight (although not technically a blown save because the game was tied).
Damon going for the open third base was a gutsy move because the fielder was very close. Had to turn on the jets for a few steps for the track moment of the game. Lidge was rattled because he should have been covering and the meltdown was on.

Important point, Cliff Lee was super efficient.
That was the discussion after game 1.
I thought getting Cliff Lee 3 starts would be important especially if they were down going into game 4.
Now they still need 3 wins and Lee has only one start left.
If Lee and Pedro win, Hamels is their game 7 guy.
Let me re-write what could have been.
Lee starts last night and does better than Blanton and the Phillies have a lead late in the game. Maybe Lidge doesn't blow it and the Phillies win. Series at at 2-2
Game 5 tonight Blanton vs short rest Burnett. Phillies get to Burnett this time or not. Yankees still win. Yankees up 3-2.
Game 6- Rested Pedro vs. short rest Pettite. Phillies win. series tied 3-3
Game 7- Lee vs Sabathia. Phillies have a good chance.
It's all about game 7. Is a rested Hamels better than short rest Lee?
How many world series have been lost with a 3-1 lead?

As a Yankee fan I would definitely rather face Hamels than a short-rest Lee.

Two according to an article I just saw.
It's more than that because I can name at least four: '58 Yanks, '68 Tigers, '79 Pirates, '85 Royals.
Also, it might be J.A. Happ instead of Hamels for a theoretical Game 7.
Unbelievable. Phillies had it and they still blow it with lame plays and nonexistant batting power.
Maybe what I saw was teams down 3-1 with two games left on the road. The article said twice teams have come back in this situation. Pretty vague.
I also would consider Happ for game 7, too.
Or Hamels 3 innings. Happ 4 innings. Then the kitchen sink.
I like the Phillies chances of getting to game 7.
Phillies stay alive for game 6. Keys for Phillies winning game 6: get a 4-5 run lead to the 8th inning, pray your relief pitcher(s) can hold it, and keep Mariano Rivera sitting in the dugout.
If this series makes it to game 7 somehow, I doubt Happ would start. He hasn't started in a month and has looked shaky recently. I could see Hamels starting, possibly Blanton. 4 or 5 innings tops, unless they are on absolute fire. After 4 innings, throw what ever is left. Lee, Chan Ho, Happ, Madson etc.
Have to win game six first.
Pedro Martinez wins game 6. It just has to be that way.
Game 7 - starters will be irrelevant as both teams throw out at least 5 or 6 pitchers.
Ryan Howard finally has some big RBI's (yes I put an 's' at the end of RBI even though the 'R' is the plural word).
Chase Utley will be the Series MVP.
Am I biased? Yes.
