I just spent 10 minutes (on the clock, of course) staring at the logo trying to make myself dislike it. And I still like it. Maybe we can be like google and make different logos for different holidays and famous people's birthdays. I'm kind of chuckling thinking of the birthdays we might recognize and how we could alter the logo.
Now I've been looking at other logos. I don't really see any other logos that make me want to go to a site, or that turn me off. It seems to me that the one thing a logo should be is consistent. In fact, of most of the logos out there, letsrun.com's is one of the most recognizable (to me at least).
I also like the motto that goes with the logo. It really seems to say what LetsRun.com was and is all about: Where your dreams become reality (I should keep that motto in mind every day and try to keep promoting the sharing of knowledge and stories related to distance running and track and field, not just news). It's a place where people can come to learn about running, not just by reading about others but by using the message board to answer their own questions and also watching videos. I know I've learned a lot through the site over the years.
I guess if we were to take a poll I would want to ask readers a) do you like the logo?
But also you'd have to ask, b) is it more important to like the logo or for the logo to always be the same and recognizable?
I'm sure this will be a bullet point topic in the next corporate boardroom meeting with the company executives.
