Just got the Pearl Izumi Streak from Runningwarehouse.com (fantastic prices and customer service--no, I'm not affiliated--just a very satisfied customer). This shoe has incredible fit and ride. I'm an over-supinator who finds most so-called "neutral" shoes inadequate given the typical lateral softness which exacerbates my gait problems. I've ranted before about the poor design of neutral category shoes that appeal to over-pronators by adding a touch of medial support via "crash pads" and other design features.
The Streak is laterally supportive with performance cushioning (not too soft but enough to provide shock absorption for the long haul). Great fit with a snug heal and midfoot and generous forefoot. Sizing is consistent with most other manufacturers (i.e., no need to size up or down).
Now the miles will have to tell. My only other concern is the unknown of Pearl Izumi's commitment to model consistency over time. And will the company continue to make shoes? Do they sell many?
