Good choice on the machine... but what do you have for a grinder?
Don't do pre-ground... that stuff will be stale before you even buy it. You're better off investing in a decent burr grinder or even a good hand grinder. If you can't afford to buy fresh bean from a good roaster, then consider roasting your own. Green coffee can be had for about $5 a pound, and an old popcorn popper can be found for $10 at a thrift store.
Hopefully the machine will be in Monday. I'm looking forward to it.
Right now I am buying Sumatran beans from the local coffee shop and I have them grind them for me. I have a small cheap grinder but might invest in the burr grinder after my coffee maker gets here. Right now I have a small Mr. Coffee and there is a big difference in the coffee when I make my own or stop and get a cup from the shop.
I will have to look into doing the green beans and my own roaster.
