I really agree here with what you've said. I think this is his big chance to see what he can really do at the 5k distance uninjured and at the top of his game. The trouble is, that he has been and always seems to be, either recovering from or on the edge of, some kind of injury. Maybe this time he’s really ready to take on the big guys and put it out there. As you know, everyone who follows this sport has been waiting patiently all year long to see a Fernandez / Rupp race. When he said that he was going to, "Shut it down for the summer", a mild bit of maudlin depression set in (Ha!) But now, things are looking up! I hope that he decides to scratch the 1500m semi if it in any way takes away from his 5k effort. Who knows? He’s probably there to focus just on the 1500m and is using the 5k as extra. It never fails to happen though, that often what we as fans want to see, is invariably not what they want to do! Either way the meet will be exciting!
