That said, my times and academics compared favorably with most of Harvard's class my year and they called me once and then never returned my calls, so it would be fair to say their recruiting needs a little work.
I don't know how recently you finished school, but the "recruiting coordinator" (aka the sprints assistant coach) changed in 2006. The one pre-2006 did not do much recruiting really. I don't consider myself recruited on their squad since I received no calls from them until after I got accepted, and that was just a single call of congrats on getting in. Now, I thought the guy was a decent coach so I have no ill feelings towards him. But recruiting wasn't really a priority to him (it seemed like he depended on the Harvard name to attract students). If anything, Paul Turner was the main recruiter prior to his death in 2007.
I can't say what the new "recruiting coordinator" is like, but I think he's pulled in some decent talent the last few years for the sprints and jumps. Can't say how he did it, through officially calling or not. But he was a high school coach prior to 2006, so he might have been adjusting to the recruiting lifestyle the first year or two.
