Well, it probably looks like the US is headed to the World Cup again. However, many fans and pundits aren't particularly pleased on how the US has played so far. Sure, there was the 2-0 victory over Mexico, but after that the team has been inconsistent. What I think the main problem now is that US fans expect things from this team that they aren't quite capable of doing yet. The US is not ready to take out teams like Brazil, Germany, Italy, and even England on regular basis. When those teams are beaten it is usually still considered an upset, and we are still looking for that great field player Adu was suppose to be. Right now, let’s be happy the US is going qualify for the World Cup, which is something Mexico may not do this year!!!
BTW, I think "some" of the top Americans that have made it in Europe need to see more playing time. When these guys come back for national team play they are out of condition. In this case it is probably better to be playing in the MLS.
Adu isn't doing himself or the national team any good by sitting on the bench at Benfica.
