So is everyone still sure they don't miss Kelly Strong?

Assuming Schaaf is gone from UW, it sounds like this is another engineered move by her club coach in Canada a la Danette Doetzel (Michigan State to Providence)...but I could be wrong...
And how did that work out for her ... oh yeah she won an NCAA Championship (10000m) last year. Good move perhaps. What makes you think it was Steve Gerstens's idea? It's not like he coached her at Providence. I know others who left Michigan State as well, who had nothing to do with Danette's club coach (wouldn't even know who he was).
UNC UNC UNC UNC UNC UNC. UNC is a team on the rise. Illinois has one good runner. Where are all the girls from Cross Country? Fl State. No way that she can take Karen's abuse. It will be UNC.

Exactly. I don't think it is a coincidence that as soon as Kelly MacDonald-Strong leaves, things change. I wonder if any of the recruits would have changed their choice if they knew she was leaving.
Yes, Campbell was the name I was looking for. Didn't realize that the other Campbell wasn't her sister. Anita Campbell went right to he lead at the Pac 10's, into the face of swirling wind and of course paid a big price later in the race. Whoever does the coaching of these girls needs to step up because that was a huge mistake and all of us watching the race predicted the disaster that happened.
I'm wondering if all these freshmen recruits realize what has happened with the older girls, and if they aren't reconsidering their decision to attend Washington. I remember a couple years ago when all the Washington homeboys were trumping that they had a "dynasty". So much for that, but maybe this new group can do better. Actually with Stanford and Oregon in the Pac 10, don't see Washington as ever being any better than 3rd. Perfect storms do happen, but dynasties not very likely. All the Huskies need to do is look down the road to Eugene if they want to see a more likely dynasty.
We all wish Kendra Schaaf well as she pursues another school. I just hope that Kendra can get healthy and use the running talent that she has. She doesn't need people to tell her false statements like "you are perfectly fine Kendra", she needs someone to tell her the truth. I hope she gets help. She is a great girl. Good luck Kendra. I hope you come back strong.
Can anyone confirm that Kendra is actually transferring? Or just let's run talk?
Kendra is a nice person and she deserves to be in a program that cares more about the health of the runner. Just my opinion.

This sounds like typical LR chatter, speculation, etc. The only known facts are that Schaaf didn't run an outdoor track race this season, and wasn't around in Berkeley. Maybe someone close to the Huskies can bring some insight.
No one here has confirmed that she has left UW, so unless someone in the know says something, I gotta assume that she's still a Husky.
Re Dantzell--was her club coach involved in her transferring to Providence? And if he/she was, how much influence did they have over the Providence coach once there? Just asking...
Just because she didn't run track doesn't mean she is transferring. Other top runners on the team didn't run track this spring. They seem to be injury prone, esp. after XC.
Wait a minute, which top runners didn't run track this spring? Admitedly they none of them did as well as expected, but Follett, Campbell and Lawrence were all at the Pac 10 championships.
Schaaf, Babcock, Saylor...and did Lawrence only run at Pac-10s?
She should go to WVU. Up and coming tons of Canadians, and the coach is canadian.

I heard she is tranfering and going to be coached by a Canadian, but just not WVU. This team has already been mentioned in this thread.
Pete, very classy spreading pathetic lies about other coaches in your conference. I believe the only 'abuse' in the conference was the beat down FSU laid on UNC.

I'm not posting anything negative on letsrun about anyone else. I just got a call and someone who told me my name was here again and I wanted to get this straight. I think Karen does a good job at FSU with her girls.
The ACC is a competitive conference and has some very good coaches in it.
I look forward to trying to get my team to be able to compete with FSU here in the near future.
Geiger, Harvey, Vig, Thomas, Jermyn are all good coaches, running respectable programs.

You realize that Pete's not an idiot to post something like that, right? That'd be a violation.
with her WOMEN. not girls.
Don't be so painful. Would you get so indignant if someone said "Vin's boys"?
